Add This It Helps Speed alot
Battle change in Heroes 5:
People who think that ATB icons are moving too slow (I think they realy are!),
can use next thing:
Add to your profiles/autoexec.cfg the following lines:
setvar ATBAction_AddRemove_Time = 0.2
setvar ATBAction_FadeOut_Time = 0.2
setvar ATBAction_Move_Time = 0.2
setvar ATBBar_ScrollSpeed = 20
*autoexec_a1.cfg(its for hof) is located in
C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Heroes of Might and Magic V\profiles
Another Speed Improvment most know but some might not :
Go to this dir:
C:\Documents and Settings\Server2003\My Documents\My Games\Heroes of Might and Magic V\Hammers of Fate\Profiles\Nevermind
To less techy persons:
Server2003 = Your user under windows
Nevermind = Your user under heroes5
C:\Documents and Settings\Server2003\My Documents\ = My documents link
Find file user_a1.cfg open it using notepad and change this line:
setvar combat_time_factor = 3
To this value
setvar combat_time_factor = 7
There after those changes combat speed time for those long fights against 100 zombies will take maybe half time.
*Latest speed helping (in the startup menu - thanks to fiur for pointing it)

It's just personal config, so it's prefectly ok to modify this, like it's ok to modify your resolution, level of details etc.

Well those values were copied from maps4heroes site i haven't checked any other values altough this seemed to be faster are you sure of what u saying?
Edited: ops your right come to think of it the last battle i had the atb scroll was so slow it couldn't move i coudln't see who will get his turn next thanx i'll change it and change in top thread too

- Thanks alot, Nevermind, really helped speed things up. I have a additional question though.
- setvar autosave = 1 can I set this value higher to have the game save faster ( also comes in handy when playing Speeddeamon games ) ?
- Guz
Edit Is there a way to get rid of those icons showing after I have learned spells / used Scholar / picked up artifacts etc. ?

No the autosave speed is a matter of your computer speed, If you want i can help you with that too ,I know some tricks to make your computer amazingly more fast then it is now..
I don't know a way to get rid of the those icons, Why would you want to ?

Hi,
- Well I just think it's rather annoying to have those "icons" showing, specially if I am in a hurry. Say I am on a 2 min or less timer and the low lvl hero I have, bringing me re-inforcements learns those spells from me .... even if I have transfered all that I need and runs off to a mayor / crucial battle , I have them showing on screen. C'mon I can't be the only one that thinks this is a bit irritating ( in the long run ). But back on topic, really helped alot, Nevermind
