Two hero classes per race
I think the game is kind of dull with only one hero class per race. So one of the few features I miss from previous games is the possibility of choosing two hero classes for each race : a might oriented one, and a magic oriented one.For example, Necropolis - Death Knight/Necromancer, or Sylvan - Ranger/Druid ...and many more examples. And class-abilities could be made, along with modified models to suit each class...
I don't think I'm the first to propose this...but I think it could be a major improvement and a source of diversity.

First of all, welcome to Heroes Community.
To the subject:
We used to talk a lot about this idea...
Best suggestion is here.
Basicly, H5 heroes system is similiar to the one of H1 and H2.
There aren't heroes of might and heroes of magic in every town, there are factions of might and factions of magic.
Might:
Haven
Sylvan
Inferno
Magic:
Academy
Necropolis
Dungeon

Welcome.
GenieLord is right. I have a thread about this too, but i posted it in the wrong forum. (I was a Tawern Dweller back then)
GL, you forgot about the Fortress. Which class does it go to? The name of the hero (Rune Mage) makes it sound magic oriented, but the attack is melee, and therefore it makes me think of a might hero.

It's confusing.
Runic (might) Magic (magic).
I think it's something between these two.

Excuse me if I will say something stupid...maybe I'm wrong...
I don't understand how can we sort the factions into might and magic...
I mean, let's take dungeon, sylvan, and necropolis...Two of them are magic, and one of them is might, as you said...But please explain to me why is this? The first thing I would think about is the number of casters in the army...dungeon has the shadow matriarchs(that's only one), necros have the lich (that's one), excepting the wraith which has death touch, and sylvan has the druid (and the pixies with wasp swarm, but that's their only spell). So I can't really take in account the number of casters in the army to sort factions as might and magic...The second thing I think about is the hero himself...and we can say that if the hero's class ability is might oriented (as it's the ranger's ability), then the factions is might also, and if the hero's class ability is magic oriented( as it's the necromancer and the warlock's) the faction is magic as well...so...there could have been for each faction might heroes and magic heroes...which automatically would have rendered the corresponding faction either might either magic...(for example, the Death Knight could have had a might ability, and we would have automatically classified necropolis as a might faction).. I hope I was explicite enough...I may be wrong...
Regardless of the fact that my opinion is wrong or not..please reply and explain to me...

It's the attack.
The Ranger attacks with his bow which is might oriented.
The Warlock and the Necromancer attack with a magic sphere.
At least is what I think.

That would be too little difference...if we had a death knight hero to the necro faction, then the faction would be might oriented, only because the hero attacked with a sword and not with a magic sphere?

I have opened threads about this on other forums...and what I am really trying to get to...is this thing possible via mods? or should be made by the Nival/ubisoft company?

No, CX, not the attack and what says if the faction is of might or magic.
Accoding to History and Heroes.
And it's written somewhere in AoH.

The history counts more or less...regarding the game itself...only the hero decides if the faction is might or magic...so...the two hero per race system could be implemented without damaging or conflicting the curent system of the game...it could expand the game a lot...
we could have something like: Haven - Priest/Knight
Necro - Death Knight/Necromancer
Inferno - Demon Lord/Heretic ( or something like this)
Sylvan - Ranger/Druid
Dungeon - Assasin(or Overlord)/Warlock
Academy - Vizir(or Beastmaster or Alchemist)/Wizard
Fortress - Warlord/Runemage
along with class-abilities
Some of the units which have the same names as some written above could be renamed to something apropiate...
Anyway...could this be done by modding?or should Nival do it?

Creatures can't be heroes. ><
Names like Druid, Assassin, Warlord, Priest, Death Knight should be changed.

I didn't said that creatures should be heroes...I proposed to name the heroes as such....and to modify the name of the creatures themselves...for example...the original death knight (creature) could be renamed to Dark Champion...or something like this...and keep the name of the hero class Death Knight...and this goes for other units that have names that could be put to hero classes...

From what I've heard, mods can't handle this.
But if you want to be sure, check the Modders Workshop forum.
Oh, and a piece of advice: this time search the forum a bit before you start a new topic, because I'm quite sure somebody already asked this.

Necromancer/Reaper
Ranger/Witch
Warlock/Overlord
Wizard/Battle Mage
Rune Mage/Runic Warrior

I prefer it to be only 1 class per faction, but we need more heroes per class, 8 is too few.
And about who is might and who magic class, just compare their primary ability ratings when classes level up and you will get the idea:
Primary and secondary stats:
Knight: Defense+Attack. = Might Class
Ranger: Defense+Knowledge = Hybrid Class
Wizard: Knowledge+Power = Magic Class
Warlock: Power+Attack = Hybrid
Necromancer: Power+Defense = Hybrid
Demon Lord: Attack+Knowledge = Hybrid
Runemage: Power+Defense = Hybrid

This sound kind of fantasy-like..but it would be really 'aiming' if people could make a petition like that of the last year ('save heroes' in which they asked nival/ubi to postphone the game in order to release it in a complete state - sorry for repeating myself) in which to request features such as this one( the two-hero classes per race), additional factions (the Stronghold -orc,troll,goblin faction on which i've seen that there is a lot of gossip in the forum) and models (i mean really textured models for each custom hero - i don't think that it would be such a big cost and a big thing for nival to make - it's just coziness) along with various bugs...I think that would have an impact...again it sounds kind of 'dreamy'...but it would be something

yasmiel...I agree with you...about the classes...previously, I've argued the fact that there are might oriented factions and might oriented ones...beside the status of the heroes themselves

I don't think that's true, Yasmiel. Rather I see the picture as this:
Knight: Primary attribute: Defence. Class Skill: Counterstrike. MIGHT
Demon Lord: Primary attribute: Attack. Class Skill: Gating. MIGHT
Necromancer: Primary attribute: Spell Power. Class Skill: Necromancy. MAGIC
Warlock: Primary attribute: Spell Power. Class Skill: Irresistable Magic. MAGIC
Wizard: Primary attribute: Knowledge. Class Skill: Aritificer. MAGIC
Ranger: Primate attribute: Defence. Class Skill: Avenger. MIGHT
Rune Mage: Primary attribute: Defence + Spell Power. Class Skill: Rune Magic. HYBRID
The Rune Mage is the only hybrid, because this one focuses equally on two attributes, where one is might and the other is magic. Notice that the Rune Mage is indeed different from all other classes, because where they have primary skill progression 45 % / 30 % / 15 % / 10 %, the Rune Mage has 30 % / 30 % / 20 % / 20 %.
All the other classes have one primary attribute (either might or magic) and in each single case, that one matches the properties of the Class Skills. Therefore, I don't think any of the others can be defined as Hybrid.
And my scheme for a two-hero model would be:
Haven: Knight + Cleric.
Inferno: Demon Lord + Heretic.
Necropolis: Death Knight + Necromancer.
Dungeon: Overlord + Warlock.
Academy: Alchemist + Wizard.
Sylvan: Ranger + Warden.
Fortress: Defender + Rune Mage.
