Besides, isn't calling it the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia even worse? I mean, it's alluding that it's Yugoslavian, not Greek lands...
no it isn't worse this name(F.Y.R.O.M)and i tell u why.
With that name which includes Yugoslavian it makes something clear to all the world:That this country has nothing to do with Greece and macedonia. They are just Yugoslavians. And have no relationship with macedonians (who they are greeks).Different language different culture different customs and many other differences. It's like i want to tell that greeks or spanish or whoever are same with japanese or americans or whoever!

Exactly!... After I point out that finnish people weren't vikings, those were the swedish, danish and norwegians.
Now, back on topic

Dopy has a point, vikings could be one part of the game. Odin, Thor and all that.
But the thing is, they're not wizards but Gods...So that makes it a bit unfair, don't you think?
And the vikings din't have humans with magical powers, so it's a bit hard to create a viking team(?) if Gods don't count.
Do they?

How bout you just include gods? Like, some divine tournament or whatever... Storylines aren't the stronger side of fighting games anyway. That would save you a lot of trouble.
Greek - Athena, Hades, Poseidon
Egyptian - Horus, Seth, Isis
Slavic - Perun, Triglav, Svarog
Norse - Odin, Thor, Loki (Odin might be too powerful though)
Chinese - Don't know Chinese mythology, unfortunately
Native American - Raven, Sedna, Kwatee
Indian - Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva (not sure about Brahma, he also might be too powerful)
USA - Chuck Norris - only one god, but more than enough
etc.
Btw what about the name for the game?

Fair point...I'll ask my swedish and danish friends if there's wizards or anything similar in the norse "mythology" (No Gods this time)
But, should there be none, there's still always the finnish two-person team But it would be a bit odd since no one's ever heard of either of them...

one god will be fine. we have Seth for the egypt sorcerors and Morrigan for the druids. just as long as they don't have all their divine power and are in a mortal form. Seth is a perfect example of this, plotting to retain his god-hood, accursed to walk in this mortal shell. avatars are another good example of how to work them in, Morrigan's character is, technically, her avatar. a demi god or a half-immortal is another way to incorperate gods into this, like herakles, though preferable one with magical powers.
also balance the sexes, please. have at least one male and one female. the third can be either (or both!)

just add a finnish god as a mortal and you have the three man finnish team

my friend and i are conflicting on that. i was to call it "Battle mages", but he wants it to be called "Magic of combat"

There aren't any finnish Gods!
Really, finnish people believed in some nature things, dunno what...
There was of course Seppä Ilmarinen, a black-smith who was incredibly good at his work and could make magical items and weapons...
He's from Kalevala, too
So that's two males and a female in the finnish team
