well it was opposite for me. I got mass slowed, my cyclops frenzied I ended up cursing their crushing blow when it demolished my own stacks.

i dont save replays of toh final fights because i usually forget plus i will need other player's approval. But i forget .

Doomforge, the only way to win against orcs is multiple magic schools, at least thats my opinion. Or a very early rush and hope that he doesnt get strong shatter skills.

I dunno how you did it . I only won once against orcs with dungeon, spamming wasp swarm and pheonix. The other games... they totally smashed me without any effort.

i meant that the only time i won vs them was with dungeon and summoning.

I agree that Phoenixes have high initiative.  And aside from that that, they resurrect themselves!  With my latest experience, I happen to bring  down a stack of 9 but when the last one dies another 9 just popped out... again.  

Ok, with the splitting of 7 stacks of assassin does it mean that their purpose is just to stand there and let the Phoenixes kill them while my Hero is doing the total carnage?  Also, I have a little thought about that.  Assassins are cheap and tier 1, easy access. So I agree that it can be used as a fodder and by splitting them into 7 stacks am I assured that the Phoenixes wouldn't be able to eliminate all the 7 stacks before I could beat them?

Yes, I've seen a lot of changes in TotE.  Like for example the Skill Wheel.  If my eyes don't get me wrong:

Basic Luck > Advanced Luck > Soldier's Luck and Magic Resistance (?!) and Dark Ritual (?!) > Warlock's Luck?  

Wow... and now, it is hard to get huh?  Maybe I'm wrong, but that's what I see in the Skill Wheel.  Correct me if I'm wrong.

Cold Death is a perk under Destructive that will enhance ice spells (Ice Bolt, Circle of Winter, and Deep Freeze). When these are cast, at least one creature will be killed (if it doesn't have cold immunity, which is the case with the Phoenix) in addition to the normal damage. Evercold Icicle is an artifact that will give you 50% more damage for your ice spells. Have you gotten the manual?

That's should be the idea, though I'm not sure. This will depend on how fast you can kill the Pboenixes (i.e. your spellpower and the strength of your stacks). But if it's Stalkers (TotE) we're talking about, it's almost 100% guarantee.

Correction:

Basic Luck > Advanced Luck > Soldier's Luck and Magic Resistance and Dark Ritual > Expert Luck > Warlock's Luck

It is harder to get Warlock's Luck, true, but it's easier to get the ultimate - Rage of the Elements. Just do the math for the skills required

oh..I agree that dungeon got stronger in tote.espacially creeps with the stalkers.you will found it is a piece of cake to kill 9 phoenix with 7 stacks of 1 stalker.

I have a friend who like to use dungeon to play against me and he usually
takes 7 stakcs of 1 or 2 stalkers to attack me. It almost drive me crazy because I still have no good ideas to defeat them..

AOE.  Doesn't matter if they are invisible or not.  Just aoe them.  Fireball if nothing else.  Find/buy some archmages if desperate.  Anything that affects an area can get them.

Yup, I have to agree. I have two castles = 50% elemental damage. Then I got Rage of the Elements, and it doubled to 100% elemental damage. I guess the same happens with Runeforce set (omg I need to get my hands on that set ). BK-School is so a fun map (Reptile Queen ftw!), I'm going for academy towns next, maybe I get lucky and their artifact merchant has the runeforce armor. Who needs an army when you can kill the enemy troops on your own?

A little question regarding the element of spells. Implosion = fire or earth? And which spell is air, only fist and bee swarm?

They can't move when they turn invisible, just Meteor Shower them
Or even better Armageddon LOL You probably kill less of your own troops then you would loose if you let the warlock cast one or two times more ... Hmm... I think I just found out that Armageddon has a purpose
Edit: works best with Academy and +magic resistance mini-arties

You'd need stone spikes for that and you'd only kill 2 stacks max because then they'd move. For fireball and ice circle you'd need to get at least basic destructive and their availability in the magic guild.

Yeah Bad part is that they go invisible fast so it's hard for some factions to kill all 7 of them before the warlock has cast 2-3 spells.

Sylvan can with avenger->rain of arrows, easiest counter.

Necro has curse of the necromancer, one out of three and banshees but there may be a few casualties before they go on the other side and use their wail..

Academy has that, aoe and armageddon, resistance mini arties but will usually have something.

Runemages have a charging army with rune(easy to uncover their position), dwarven luck so the spell may end up halfed and finally aoe.

Stronghold has shatter destructive and rage to shrug off the first spells a definite counter.

It's haven I'm a bit worried about.

exactly that is what I thought, aoe spell.but can not kill them all in one turn.
I think corrupted soil is a nice way to solve this problem becaus then they can not move.
for archmage..unfortunatelly he always choose Lethos as his best hero so I am afride archmages would get poisoned in the beginning of the battle.
I remember once I took 5 stacks of 1 archmage to fight his Lethos and all
of 5 stacks got poisoned ...perfect...!
So I decided to choose Nathir because with expert destruction magic and dark magic there is 1/3 chance to get armageddon or curse of the netherworld..of course corrupted soil....
but at the same time it means that you must spend at least 5 skill points
to learn dark magic and corrupted soil so that you may have to give up some usefull skills.

Scatter shot with haven?  Havn't tried that though.  The alt upgrade griffens dive?  Yeah haven will have issues.

No, archers have 9 initiative and the battle  griffins are just as slow(10). But I had not thought of 7 single imperial griffins They should battle dive before the warlock even with swift mind, at least most of them. And if he just moved the assassins the griffins still play fast and your hero can see and hit them.
