Quote: same for knight
Are you saying knights are not good with ballista? If so, play with the heroe Vittorio and see what you cand do. And in general they might be dangerous with those since they've got a good chance for war machines, attack rises up easily and triple ballista is a fast acquiring perk.

Nah it's pretty useful with flaming arrows it just has to be used within a certain time because it cannot match a demonlord or barbarian's ballista. The latter too would not mind to prolong the game a bit by going the warmachine route.

Instead of wasting 7 skills on Exp WM, Triple Ballista, Archery, Flaming Arrows a knight would be much better with:
Battle Frenzy, Retribution, Expert Leadership, Divine Guidance.

you can get those skills with vittorio easily and you can get flaming ballista doing 1200 damage per 3 shots within second-third week if played correctly
It's a really decent damage dealer, by that time your stacks hardly do 500 damage
you will get a few more levels thanks to it, too, so your stats will be higher and you will have more skills anyway
don't forget Vittorio's ballista gets +1 ATT per level so it's much better than ordinary knight's ballista
I wouldn't bother with War machines with knights, unless you play Vittorio, that is. And since he is the best creeper, why not?

Crossbowmen with a few squires and teleport spell? Or do you use palies too? Even with the high damage from those I'd expect the icebolt and phoenixes to hurt a bit.

This is turning into a Haven strategy thread. As I said, forget Vittorio, geez... He is banned from Heritage of Deleb and Dead Man's Lake, small maps, where fast creeping is utterly essential.
And we are talking Haven here in general, not Vittorio... See, this is the best reason for a balance patch. Right now everyone picks the best creeping hero of the faction, plays with him and argues about a faction in general... Heroes should be more equivalent, even if different, imo...

You can always resurrect...
IMO, hourglass requires too much routine play in order to shine on it. It's a lousy map.

This is pointless. Is warlock and wizard banned too? They make better rushers and creepers than Vittorio

Ok not the best dungeon player. Want to ask probably a silly question. Master of Storm + Chain lightning. You get chain lightning in your book, Master of Storm appears. Is it worth it to get that skill? Especially because the spell can hit your own troops.
Also is master of fire better then master of ice? How do the masteries compair to each other? Thanks in advance.

Well, who are you arguing aganinst? me or the map-makers? That is how maps are made, by experienced players...
Essential here is the fact that Vittorio is greatly better than other knights on these maps, so that's a reason why he's banned. Warlocks and Wizards are not that apart, although I have a hunch havez is banned too...

map maker doesn't necessarily mean an experienced player, you know.
Heritage of Deleb was made when ppl used to think warmachine rush was imba. Well, war machines had a bit more HP back then, too. But now? I can take any warmachine guy with a warlock any time. And creep faster than him, too. Why is he banned and warlock is not?

Chain Lightning with Master stuns only first target, so it will not affect your troops, but anyway, its waste of skill imo. Other Masters depends on guild, with Fireball, Master of Fire + Secrets of Destruction + Ignite works decent. Master of Ice is prereq for Chilling Death (or how is it called), and mosty effective aginst killer-ballista or Phoenix - Circle of Winter in guild on small map usually forces me to take it.

I've seen so many comments about the "uselessness" of some alternative upgrades of Dungeon and to be honest, Dungeon is very ok in alternatives. I mean... any alternate is useful vs a specific faction. I find myself upgrading more often to brisk raiders for example and not because their special, but because of their extra initiative and attack which is very handy. Hydras... sure regeneration is very good, but that acid blood is not bad either mainly because you try to finish off the enemy as fast as possible. Blacks vs Reds (witches do have righteous might, dont they?). Furies vs Sisters depending on the opponents. Fast opponents -> furies, slower opponents -> sisters. Stalkers vs Assassins... assassins late, stalkers early. Minotaurs dont count anyway. Mistresses vs Witches... another tough choice. Same spells, one melee, one ranged... in many situations (final fights) you wont cast spells with them, so i'd rather do some damage.

To the most I agree, however I still believe Furies are overall much better than Sisters no matter the opponent.
