Quote: I build capital before shadow mistress, because without the gold you can't hire them all later on. Plus you only need 1 or 2 for creeping if that's necessary. Also as dungeon I will get mage guild lvl 2 week 1.
Starting town Lv.2 this is not possible.

This still doesn't answer my original question. Does anybody use this build?

I actually don't.
I use this:
week 1: Tavern => Scout => Assassin/stalker => Mage Guild => Town Hall => Blood Maiden => City Hall
Week 2: Fury/Sister => Altar of Elements => Blacksmith => Minotaur => Fort => Raiders => Citadel => Capitol
Week3: Hall of Intrigue => Witch => Market => Grim/Brisk Raiders => Silo => Matriarchs/Misstresses => Castle
Then, no particular moment, blended in if time/cost allows it: Hydras => Deep/Acid Hydras => Captains/Taskmasters => Mage guild 2 => Altar of the Primal Elements => MG 3 => MG 4 =>
note: if I am able to build/upgrade Dragons in the meantime, I'll squeeze them in the planning, that's why I excluded them. I usually build them in mid-week 3, earlier if the map's rich or easy to conquer. Same of the Mother of Darkness
note2: If I can build the next building in line, I skip it. Then I either build nothing or I build the next thing on my list (most of the time, I simply upgrade the Mage Guild)

Bad build Lexxan (Blacksmith -> Minotaurs so early? come on, they suck)
One important thing about my building order is that I try to build Captiol, City Hall, etc ASAP, unless it's the end of the week and I turn the favor to some dwellings for growth (if I'll still be able to build the Capitol, etc, the next day - that means I won't run out of money)
So, because there are so many maps with different starting buildings, I'll list my "priorities" (without Town Hall, etc, because those are builded as soon as they are available - save for some rare exceptions I explained above)
Tavern -> Scouts -> Stalkers -> Mage Guild -> Maidens -> Furies -> Raiders -> Hall of Intrigue -> Mage Guild 2 -> Marketplace -> Dragons (if possible on some maps, otherwise later) -> Witches -> Fort -> Citadel -> Castle -> Hydras -> Resource Silo -> Blacksmith -> Minotaurs -> Mage Guild 3 -> Trade Guild -> Altar of Elements -> Grim Raiders -> Altar of Primal Elements -> Upgrade Dragons (if possible, otherwise later) -> Shadow Mistresses -> Deep Hydras -> Mage Guild 4, 5 -> Minotaur Taskmasters

Why maybe I'm old fashioned, but I try to get hydras/upgraded a lot sooner than you guys for creeping with regeneration/no losses.
Like mid week 2. After stalkers and mage guild they are my next priority outside of castle and capitol lines.

Who needs Hydras when you have Stalkers?
Ok I agree there are some times when you need Hydras, but not much, I usually take everything only with Stalkers, Furies and Hero's spells.

As for the build I've mentioned at the start of this page, it's the build I have been using for the Dungeon since playing TotE, and to me its has always seemed like a solid build, for a starting Lv.2 town anyway.
I don't go for a Mage guild Lv.2 in the first 2 weeks because I play with Lethos so Decay and Eldrich/Stone Spikes is fine.
@ Lexxaan: I'm actualy surprised ppl still build Minotaurs so early cos they really suck. (I build em dead last if I can get to dragons)
@ Adon: Hydra creeping ???

hydra creeping is simply keep defending and waiting with the hydra, never attack. That way all the damage they take gets regenerated and soon enough the enemy stack gets too small to do any damage.

Don't!
Even if you want Furies so badly, Sacrifice Minotaurs. Their HP/cost ratio is A LOT better than the Hydra's.

Indeed cost/HP Is:
Minotaur = 140 Gold / 31 HP = 4,52 Gold/HP
Hydra = 550 Gold / 80 HP = 6,88 Gold/HP
I used this tacitic in HoF because i saw no need to use Hydras they were to slow with their 7 Init and they didn't fit into my battle strategy.
But it's good to know
Thanks for Enlightment

I tend to sac stupid stuff until +3 growth. Sacrifices after that are just too damn costly
If only Shadow Mistress growth increased as well

I almost never sacrifice units.
I think that amount of HP which is required for furies is absurd. If we want to get +4furies we need to sacrifice 2400HP = 10+ Archangels It makes no sence on fast maps.

I always sacrefice Creatures from external Dwellings. And Minotaurs are a big help durinbg long battles, saved my backside many times. They are sucky, I don't deny it, but in high numbers they can be very dangerous. That's why I build them early.
But I sometimes skip them, depends on opponent.

I recently tried to check if Dark Renewal skill(should it happened that ANY magic spellis resisted by the target, the hero gains back all the mana spent to cast that spell) is working with Warlock Irresistable Magic meaning when an Empowered IceBolt with Warlock Luck and Rage of Elements is resisted by magic resistance is cast for free but sill deals damage.
And nope it doesn't work that way at least when i have tried to chceck this out.

I thought Dark Renewal works only for Dark Magic spells?
btw, how does it work? You don't get the mana back when the target resists the spell because of Irresistible Magic, or?

Another description that probably needs fixing
Ok it isn't any good against Summoning spells, and Light Spells, so it is only good against Dark and Destructive Spells i have tried that and it works but it is without any animated or sound effect
this skill will work with Damaging Area spells like stone spikes, Circle of Winter, Fireball,but only when all afected by this spell creatures will resist it So it isn't so good ability.
Maybe for Dark Caster Warlock, Necromancer or Knight who can have low knowledge and low mana reserves.
