I don't want to bring up any stale threads, but has there ever been any sort of walkthrough for HOMM1 done?
My skill level is not that good and I used Quebec Dragon's walkthroughs as bible for HOMM2. And basically have had a lot of trouble with 3
I just recently and finally was able to win one of the single hero scenarios (i.e. you have to defeat Lord Kilburn and the other 5 Knight castles) in HOMM1 and I can't find any advice.

Playing HOMM1 and King's Bounty. That's about it for me.
The key was to eliminate all of the computer heroes. I was gunning right at the computer castles trying to build up money. It was better to build up one hero and have him eliminate the other heroes and then any other hero that came out.
Ah, well. So I completed HOMM, so what do I do? Play Kings Bounty.
