Yeah I think if I had the time to really get Glade going again I'd do it. But it's too much of a distractions from the other things I want to do with my time.
I'd still love to participate in any RPs that people start up in Glade, so don't think I've given up on RPing. I just don't feel like I can do what's needed to mod Glade anymore.
Plus Alci can suck it.

Now that it's April 2nd, I'd like to say yes, I'm still resigning.
However I do have a few other things I want to say as well.
When I first came to Heroes Community, people really cared a lot about this place. It felt like a closely-knit community. People had a great time posting in Tavern and there were a lot of brilliant posters.
The big thing I've noticed though in the difference between the past and the present, people seemed to care more about the community. Right now it seems like a lot of people are sitting on the sidelines waiting for something to happen.
In the past I remember people putting lots of effort into this place. And back then putting in effort paid off, bigtime. But now it seems like that spirit has been lost.
I wish I knew the members of this community or had the time to do something about it, but I'm at a point in my life where I need to spend time elsewhere. Some of the members at HC, I think really do care about this place and are putting in effort.
I feel like this is the main reason, the people of 2006 have gone seemed to lose a lot of interest so quickly. They stopped putting in the effort. Back in 2006, the first ICTC came and I wish I was more inviting to them. They had the spirit that hadn't been around in 2 years. They poured their hearts into their submissions. And I guess I never saw that.
In 2004, I fell in love with Glade. We had a small group of us, around 7 to 8 posters that religiously spent at least a couple hours everyday, just reading and posting in Glade. I had never made friends from online before. And I'd say a fair amount of those people, are still friends today and I do want to meet them at some point in real life.
I think one particular member that has the old spirit is Alci and I'm sure he will breath life into the Heroes Boards. But the other boards, I think aren't what they used to be. I feel like wastelands is where people instantly go for comedy. People post mindlessly and leave nothing behind for the future generations to look back on and have their own laughs at the old classics.
I really think people should put more effort into Tavern. Tavern can be an amazingly hilarious board, just ask one of the older members and I bet they could point you to a bunch of examples of what Tavern used to look like.
Other Side used to be a really great place too. There were numerous regulars who used to fill the forums with wonderful discussion. Was never really my thing, but still, Other Side had its own little community within HC. And boy did they put effort into their posts. Consis could probably point you to a billion of those old discussions.
Anyway, I don't want to put anyone down by saying this. I just hope that you realize that what you put into HC is what you get out of it. And this is true for everything in life. Hell is it ever true for Glade.
I remember MightyMage once told me that when he first joined Let's Have War, he wasn't all that wild about the thread. And then he really started to put effort into the thread. Develop his character and develop the plot. Everyone who posted in Let's Have War, put in their share of effort and absolutely loved the thread.
When you really put effort into a thread or a forum and see it grow, you feel a sense of attachment and ownership to your threads. I just hope that when you read this, you take that in mind when you go to make your next posts.
I guarantee you that if the community as a whole decides to step up and put in some effort, this place will most definitely thrive. You'll make friends that you want to meet in RL. You feel a sense of pride for your forum and attachment to the community.
I'm not saying it's better than your relationships in real life, but just keep that in mind, the next time you mindlessly browse the internet out of total boredom, because there's nothing interesting HC. If you are bored and surfing the net, try putting a little effort into HC and I'm certain that you'll enjoy your results.
Someone needs to carry the torch.

Well I gotta do it sometime.
Just remember if you don't put effort into having fun, it's not gonna be a lot of fun. It's good to work hard. But make sure you play hard too. Have to put in effort to have fun.

I dunno, I'm getting guilt tripped into staying as mod lol.
As for Glade. I won't stop you from putting in your best efforts, but I honestly think it might be a good idea to just let things remain stagnant until there's a crapton of new members at HC, so things can be more spontaneous.
But I mean if you've got the Golden Idea, feel free to post it.
