Saw it,Loved it,one of the best movies that I've seen in a long time.
I believe you have to watch it in the state of mind that you are going to watch an animated flick(due to 80% of it being CG) and you'll love it too.
Just to finilize my opening,I feel there were some lines in the movie which screamed CLASSIC.
Alrighty then, discussion time is officially open....

I have heard that it's great movie and i have high expertations for this movie. I don't mind CGI now days when most times it looks great. They had plenty of money to make the movie look really great when the cast actors aren't yet the biggest dollar holes in the market.
What other there is to say. It's Frank Millers damned! (Yeah high expertations)

If you liked Fast and Furious series, then youŽll love this one.
This is the kind of movie you have to see on the big screen (and for the sake of your brains, ONLY on the big screen!) The plot of the movie was perharps as stupid as it can get. The effects were amazing and the characters looked, dressed and acted really cool.
For me this is an average movie, I prefer the movie that has some thought put into it in addition to special effects and cool-looking stuff. An example of such a movie would be Matrix or De Ja Vu (spelling?)

I just have one question - WHY ON EARTH DID YOU PUT A BUMP IN A THREAD ABOUT SOME DUMB MOVIE ONLY EIGHT HOURS AFTER YOU LAST POSTED THERE?!?!?
On topic - I haven't seen it, but I must admit it's not looking good from the previews - I tend to like movies that are going to at least require some part of my brain other than the visual centre to do some work

I dunno whjy anyone would bump a thread eight hours after you posted in it before, that's stupid lol.
But, I have heard from many reviews that this is a good movie, and I too have high expectations of it

Be nice, guys. Haven't seen the movie, and not sure I want to, think perhaps it's a bit too gory for my taste, but to call it a no-brainer is actually not fully giving it justice, from a historical point of view, it's a very fascinating subject, and from a political point of view, one can draw many interesting parallels to later periods, and to think about how our view on such things change with the time is really interesting.

It's good.
Not that gory or violent, well it is, but that's not what's going to disturb you. The disgusting people will.
It was amazing the first time I saw it lol

True my friends, this is a no brainer, but why not every now and then.I am a big fan of deep plot movies so I do watch a lot of world movies especially asian type flicks. But I have to say that I did appreciate this film from the art aspect and once again I think it had some very good lines. Also to anyone who hasn't seen it yet, watch it first and then comment. Cheers

300 was by far the best of Frank Miller's films. It is a no brainer, yes, but it is not the visual or the plot that captivates you, it is the acting of people and the emotions the movie invokes. I went to see this movie before it came out for full view in cinema and I must say I was astonished...
Russ said enough to describe the movie

Deja vu is an awesome movie Praise to that one I went to the cinema twice to see it because the first time I saw it was captivating - plot was awesome (although i pretty much understood how it will end)
Sunshine is the next on my list (going in two days time to watch it full). It is very deep and sci-fi is something that is interesting (I did not even think Deja Vu will have a trace of it, but it had and it was so NEAT!)...

A magnificient symphony of violence.
And not much else. You have at most 15 minutes of story that gets dragged to nearly two hours.
The hunchback's character was weak.
There should've been more hot lesbo action in Xerxes' tent.
Spartans fighting for freedom? Give me a break. Sparta was a freakin' oligarchy that loved its slaves. Take out Leonidas' stupid speech about freedom and give him something else to work with. I can dig Spartans whooping ass and telling each other, "It doesn't get any better than this."
Faramir's narration started wearing on me.
Is it worth the price of admission? I guess. But for all the excitement I felt from the previews, I felt pretty let down with the final product.
Guess I gotta wait for Spidey 3 and Transformers.
Huzzah!

Megatron is one of my idols.
Regarding 300, there is more beefcake in that movie than what McDonald's has been churning out in the last 50 years.
Guys, don't be surprised if your girl starts turning into a salivating, slavering, gibbering idiot at the sight of all those cuts.
And prepare yourself for the questions regarding why you don't measure up to that level of manliness.
Edit: And don't be surprised if this Christmas you find your stocking stuffed with a spear, a shield, and Billy Blanks' official Spartan Warrior Tae-Bo DVD.

I've heard the movie portrays the Persians (bad buys) as gay, effeminant, or disfigured. This puts me off the movie.

"A thousand nations of the persian empire descend upon you!!!!!"
So you see Daystar, it's the other Persian nations that are gay, effeminate, and/or deformed. Not yours. Quit being a weenie and figure out for yourself how offensive the portrayals are.

Yah
Gotta agree with Gootch there.. We had to mop the floor after we went to the movies to see it.. so many women, just sitting there gawking like mad.. Was pretty much scary.
Other than that i LOVED the movie.. just a shame that they put the story in, tbh.. There wasn't enough bloodgore to really BRAND it like that, and theres too little story to really make it interesting..
The scene with those erefors (or wtf those inbreds at the start of the movie is called) was REALLY disgusting!
But i loved the movie. I just can't live up to those buff bodies
