Map Editor Question
Hi I am currently working on a multiplayer map ect.. ect...
Now I encoutnered a problem today, my map is about 60% or more complete, I opened the editor to do some work on it, and I get no objects in the list. Furthermore any object currently on the map is unmovable, if I try to edit the object properties or the map properties, my editor crashes immediately.
I can use the fill brush, and the terraformer tool without issue. Any suggestions as to how I can correct this problem?

Have you tried making a different map to see if you can place objects there? At least that would tell you if it's to do with your map file or the editor itself.

Yeah I tried to use the editor on my current project, an older project, and a fresh map template same thing for all 3, no objects appear in the panel.
Its very strange, I wonder if I can just download the editor from somewhere and replace the files without a fresh instal of the game.

If the problem is not in the map, then I don't see it as a critical loss.
Reinstall the editor and if that doesn't work, the game. Altough if you don't have time it can really be a pain. Trust me, I know

Well, first try to copy the Editor folder from someone (maybe you deleted some files ) Maybe the object list is in there and that's why

As an update... I took someone elses editor folder.. it did nothin to solve this problem.
I reinstalled the game completely, removed everyhting from the directorys ect. And still the editor does not function.
I have patched to 1.5.. can't use the preset duel editor tool, still cannot see any objects in the list.
Very frustrating.

Strange... maybe you accidentally opened a heroes 5 map with the HoF editor or vice versa? Sometimes it's just such a little mistake that causes the biggest problems...
and about the duel editor: is there not even the option for it in the "Tools" menu of the editor?

Oh yes, I have the option to use it, then it opens the duel editor creation tool, then I name my hero.. pick his race.. then go to procedd and poof Editor crashes asks if I should send an error report to MS.
I have tried loading several maps, and the map I was previously working on was made by me from scratch on this computer with this editor.
