I agree with GenieLord - he has been in this world for a long time and he is wise .
And you can use Ancient Treant as offensive, we dont need a offensive treant. You take your Ancient treant place him so that they have pass him and you take roots .. and you buff him and shoot the rest and kill flyers ... There is no need for Offensive treant, so gives a defensive with a ability just as good as Take roots..

well, depends. If you use him for entangling roots, mainly, you may find the offensive version more useful, depending on special. I think I'll do, since I almost never take roots with my treants. Such action forces my enemies to ignore the disabled treant stack and focus on other things, then, when everything else is dead, kill the treants with ranged attacks and hero attacks. I think I'd rather have them on battlefield.

You need to place your treants so 2x2 tiled creatures cant reach your ranged creatures.. Then take roots and just sit tight, while dragons and unicorns take the walkers and you M Hunter and Druids destroy everything... or at sieges , place your treants at the gate ... and see that your enemies must fight him

but 1x1 tile creatures still can. I'd need to waste two stacks to protect one hunter stack..

Why sit when they can for example stop paladins from jousting? They're the most reliable paladin counter around.

About the Master Hunter .vs Sharpshooter... What are you (some of you) guys talking about? The Master Hunter's Double Shot is better than No Ranger Penalty! It deals double damage when shooting ALL the time, the No Range Penalty deals double damage than normal only at long range. The Master Hunter's special deals the same amount of damage from Far Range as the Sharpshooter's, but it deals twice the damage from close range.
I think that's why the Sharpshooter has better damage; his second special may be compensated by Warding Arrows and we'll have two balanced units

wrong.. sharpshooters do ~70% damage of what m.hunters do due to better stats. Not 50%.
Don't forget that he has better initiative too, he's more durable, and his first strike is stronger than master hunter's one due to no range penalty. And we all know that for hunters, the few first turn matter the most, after 1-2 they are dead anyway.
I'd pick sharpshooter over master hunter any time of a day.

Hmm, I said The Master Hunter's special deals the same amount of damage from Far Range as the Sharpshooter's, but it deals twice the damage from close range.. I know the Sharpshooter has better stats, but that's to balance the abilities. What did you expect? To have the same stats but a worse special?

Frankly, I fear that this is what Ubi will do to many units; seeing how little they differ in the statistical area, the only major difference is their ability.. (like unicorns, treants, pixies..)
And they can't possibly make all specials balanced & equal.
So, yes, I expect some units to have same stats and worse special

and the +1 init will eventually give way to sharpshooter (probably).
And yes, the abilities will be crucial when choosing between alternates.

My fear is actually the opposite: That they will make units with the same stats but better specials.

We still don't know if we're picking between units on an individual unit basis or on a what type of castle to develop basis. The unity of the graphical style in the sylvan upgrades suggests to me the castle method.

Ok guys, updated the first post with my little analysis..
Any guesses what invisibility will be? maybe the enemy will be able to see the invisible units only if having adjacent stacks to them? Hah, that would be lovely for all the destructive magic fans out there
well, at least the minotaur got a bit more tankish. Good.

Invisibel . Unseen . I guess they move like 2 tiles seen and then unseen ... So we wont see them ... and then when they att. they are revealed - As long out of battle unseen and then when battling they are revealed ... Or something like that ... They will be hated i think...
But I think it is great balanced, these creatures are poiting to those warlocks that want to use more time on Army and not on spells - Though it will be hard because of the growth :S But I think they seem well balanced, just like Sylvan. Just hoping you can mix alternatives and normal . Else these will not fit, because Dungeon need some "offensive" / "Defensive" power ... In a good blend
