Inferno's Strategy - Some might say Frightful!

I used to hate playing inferno, but have discovered an interesting strategy that can really hurt your opponent's chances.

I call it the Nightmare O'plenty.

This involves getting offense->tactics, luck->soldier's luck, and maxing out the nightmare production (yes, getting those sulfur demanding +1/week boosts).  The key is to use the nightmares initiative and Demon Lord's offense to frighten 1 or 2 (by splitting the nightmares) opponents key stacks (like furries, blackies, lizards, paladins, etc etc.).  Remember a frightened stack gets its initiative dropped to 0!

Here is what will increase the chances for a successful fear attack (exact formula in the manual):

1) More total Hit Points for your Nightmares (why not wear ring of vitality? , or defense->vitality [although I'd rather have enlightment for a big attack boost]).
2) Less hit points for target (This counts AFTER YOUR HIT - hence maxing offense and your attack stat is key, not to mention getting a lucky strike).
3) Soldier's Luck DOUBLES the chance (and is prereq for lucky gating - but i'd prefer attacking with nightmares and gating with others).

If you got lots of nightmares, consider splitting them in 2 stacks so you can frighten a few stacks.  Also, don't forget the -3 morale penalty if your nightmares stand near other opponent's stacks.

I am sure I am not the first to think of this, but your thoughts are appreciated!

It should work against all, only except paladins, since they should have alot more hit points than the nightmares.
I remember a game with cycle in hourglass, 127 nightmares only take down 8-12 paladins and retaliation kills all. Too risky to try

Good tactic to counter the annoying hit and run from dungeon
maybe sacrifice pit lords in long games for this purpose?
