you guys do know this, RIGHT???
After many had seemed to be unclear on whether titan is a shooter or not, whether imps fly or not, etc... this should help you.
it is a known fact that 3do said that both creatures of the same level in a town CANNOT be the same type... which means that if L4 creature A is a walker, then L4 creature B either has to be a shooter, flyer, or teleporter, and NOT a walker.
THEREFORE, titan must be a shooter, since dragon golem is a walker. titan cannot be a walker, because dragon golem is a walker. and i doubt titans will fly, lol.
since the L1 for necropolis will be imps/skeletons, imps/zombies, or imps/mummies, or maybe even imps/cerberi... we know that imps WILL DEFINITELY be one of the L1's, and that the other L1 will be a walker.
THEREFORE, we can deduct from this information that the imp HAS TO BE A FLYER, since all the other L1 necro possibilities are walkers.
also, i assumed that fairie dragon would be flyer, like in h3... but apparently not, since pheonix, its counterpart is gonna be a flyer! that surprised me...
using this knowledge, you can figure out what kind of creature almost everything is.
hope this clears things up...

Is this really a known fact? I thought it was more of a popular theory. Do you have a reference to where the fact was first stated by 3do?

It does make sense, and I strongly suspect that it will be the case. However last I heard it was not an actual official rule that 3do has stated, more speculation on the part of the people here.

I hears ya'll
I hear you loud and clear, TBL. But, It really doesn't make sense that Phoenixes or Faerie Dragons wouldn't fly. Perhaps there are a few exceptions?

Ya, I also recall that I read somewhere (forget where) NWC guys say that creatures at the same lv cannot be the same type. But maybe they change their mind later, who knows.
Quote: also, i assumed that fairie dragon would be flyer, like in h3... but apparently not, since pheonix, its counterpart is gonna be a flyer! that surprised me...
My view:-
How about h4 fairie dragon is some sort of "relatives" (maybe sister ??) of h3 fairie dragon ? just like h3 troll and h2 troll. And so it loses the ability to fly ?
Maybe fairie dragon can't fly coz it spends to much time to "play around" with spells and lose the ability to fly ?
i.e. it is a caster instead of flyer ?
Or maybe fairie dragon is a teleporter instead of flier ? or maybe a sort of "magic shooters" i.e. a ranged unit with magic arrows as its weapon.
There are a lot of possibilities. But any way, fairie dragon will be one of my favorite unit in h4, just like that in h3.

If it's still called a Titan, then I'm quite sure it will shoot. That's what it has always been, why change it now? Maybe he doesn't need to hold a lightning bolt to throw it.. maybe he summons it from the sky? Maybe they gave him a "spell" too.. Lightning Bolt? Well I can always wish.
If they call him a Giant, then he'll be a walker. But that would be disappointing.

I Agree
I do Agree with you Blue Camel, I always knew that Titan Was a shooter but my friends said he was a walker. So know I have some evidence that Titan is a Shooter.

Actually, looking at Celestial Heavens Unleashed, you will see that imps and skeletons are in the same level of the Necropolis town and they both are walkers which means the same type. And then the next level of Necropolis has Cerberus and Mummy, which are both walkers, so are the same type again. Then the level 4 for Necropolis is Devil or Bone Dragon, which are both once again, the same type(Flyer).
The titan is undoubtfully a shooter
Yes and also Phoenix and Faerie Dragon are both flying of Preserve, which makes them the same type.
Lastly, For level 1 at stronghold, both creatures are walkers. Therefore, I have clearly proven The_Blue_Camel wrong unless I have made a mistake.

If Titan isn't a shooter, then he'll be pretty useless for a Lvl 4 (just can't stand a chance vs the BD).. which leaves you with the alternative of.. (gulp) the Dragon Golem.

Well I do remember a review saying that a choice between two creatures will usualy be a choice between a walker and a shooter or a walker and a flyer. But I don't remember 3do ever saying that this will absolutely always be the case with no exceptions. Honestly I think alot of people have just read that theory so many times they are starting to take it as fact.

Well I'm not saying that the rule is wrong, I'm just saying that I don't believe that the rule was ever officialy stated by 3DO. I think it's mostly just a very logical educated guess on our part.
