Let's Talk Sports...
Hey,
I thought that this would be a place for general discussion about sports, mostly about yourselves, not as much professional, but that's okay too, if it's something to do with you That means, if you're really good at some specific sport, tell us about it. As in if you for example won the European championship of fencing or such You can also tell about your team and it's achievements, your personal victories, or simply some fun stories that have something to do with your preferred sport/hobbie.
And beisdes, lately this forum has consisted of very little but religion and politics, so at least it's something different
Sorry if this has been done before, I wouldn't know

Okay, I'll have to be the one to get this thread going
My sport is judo. Anyone else do that here? We'd have a lot to talk about Please tell me if you do judo!
My best achievements:
 Gold in luxembourgish championships 2006 and 2007 (Under 16 years old) 2006 in -50kg and 2007 in -60kg
Silver in finnish judo open 2006 (-55kg)
I do judo in the national team of Luxembourg, in addition to my own club.
Various other bronze, silver and gold medals in minor competitions in Lux. Germany, Belgium and France
I'm ranked 8th out of 97 male judokas born 1992 in Luxembourg.
What's to come in the near future:
Finnish judo open 2007
Judo European championships for juniors under 18 years old 2007
International Children's games in Reykjavik
That's about it. It's not as good as it would seem, because Luxembourg is such a small country. For example being in the national team doesn't mean as much as being in the national team of France or Germany. But this is how far I've got so far and I'm proud of it Gotta keep aiming higher
Now, this type of post is not the only acceptable. Just an idea
Come on, let's hear about your sportlife! Even if you don't consider your story/thing very impressive, do post it!

Okay...I don't "drink" as such but I once got myself into a situation where I was playing pool all drunk with my cousins. It's actually quite a funny story Baklava knows about it...

I do 80-120 km every nice day (nice = no clouds  )
besides that I'm trying various sports, but with poor effect. Yet.

By the way I forgot to mention that I have a sponsor deal with Adidas They give me all judo equipment for free plus 50% off all their products and I wear Adidas judo stuff and the Adidad logo on the back of my judogi in competitions and I promote Adidas in all ways in my leisure

I was great at basketball when I was a teenager, I played for a quite good team here in Israel "Hapoel Holon" and was the starting point guard most of the games.
But then I went to the army and...
*Sighs*
All went downhill from there on... Oh I could have been the next Steve Nash godammit

I do about 500-850 km every day when rhinos fall from the sky...
Btw I was into judo for about... hmm... 2 weeks I think. Made it to the white belt!

Yeah, that's hard Actually judo gets far more interesting after green belt, what with all the armlocks and stangling and cooler throws

i do clay pigeon shooting. but i'm not good (12 shots, only 2 hits!)
i also do free running. i once raced my friend to the cinema, and i won... then i got caught on some private propetry.
i also play rugby, and do karate, Tea-kwon-do and Kendo, and i am bad at all three (i got beaten by a 12 year old in a sparing match at Kendo)
i also do sailing...
basically, if i'm ever on alcatraz, i might just be able to get out.

That's four... Still, those are interesting arts and you are indeed lucky to have time for all of those. I wish I did. I would like to do at least 3 or 4 martial arts. What belts have you got?Rugby's nice too, especially on a trampoline

I don't actually do sports (I'm not a competetive person) but I do slalom, underwater rugby, finnish baseball, orientation.
I also go hiking, mountain biking, jogging and do some general excercises.
I've also got green belt in karate but I haven't done it in 4 years.
