I believe you can only send saves that are manually made. Auto saves are imprinted specifically for your own computer... so have never had any success in sending those saves. But when making a manual save, it creates a duplicate exact same save for both computers.

Nope.....you can make it work with autosaves as well. Ive done it several times. Just send your friend the autosave that you want to load and have them put it in the saves folder. Sometimes for it to work, the person who is receiving the save and placing it in the saves folder needs to clear out all other saves from that folder EXCEPT the autosave they are trying to load. Also one little odd thing ive noticed about doing this is that sometimes to make it work the person who did NOT originally host the game has to host it otherwise the game does not recognize the save on both computers. BTW autosaves on my machine are numbers 12, 13, and 14 but this is probably different for everyone. Anyway, just give it a shot and mess around with it a bit and it will usually work.

Okay, I tried to save face by not admitting that I'd disabled autosaving. Now that I'm autosaving everything is working out right. Thanks to Nevermind and everyone else who was helpful.

And the dreaded checksum returns
Buddy and I have been playing for a few hours now. He crashes. We restart from the autosave and no go. I send him all 3 autosaves. No go. I move all my maps save this one to another folder. No go. Still the checksum error.
We'd had a couple of crashes previously and were able to restart. Now we're not. Is there any hope?
