Back ON topic. I got my game from going over a friends house, who owned HoMM 2 and we played it for hours non-stop. From about 2 in the afternoon to 12 at night. When we were making a map, there were so many castles, so i thought there was a castle for each creature. So i kept bugging my friend about it. And it basically started from there.
BTW: My friend is not apart of HC, i tryed to get him into it but it didn't work.

Yeah, Hydra, back on topic! Milena (my fair lady) and Dark Titan, take your quarrels elsewhere.
My story is quite similar to yours, Hydra, my family was over at a friend's family's house for dinner, and us kids (probably fourteen or fifteen at the time) quickly finished our meal to rush upstairs to play this new great game he had been telling me about. I was instantly hooked, (this was HOMMII) and bought the game within the end of the week! I loved the adventuring, the battles, the music (oh, the music), the great graphics (maybe not stunning in pixel-count, but what an atmosphere they created!), just everything! I then bought PoL expansion, HOMMIII, AB and am now waiting desperatly for HOMMIV (can't find SoD in shops any more ).

Point taken but we werem't quarrelling! I just made a point on online behaviour. Maybe I should start a new thread: how do we have to behave on the HC. :-) Some people really need help with that.

This is what piracy is for. My SoD is also a pirate copy and maybe this is the reason I can't play online. DO you think this might be the reason?

You have pirate copy Milena? Shame on you, shame on you...
To the original subject I have answered before in some thread long ago.
I remember seeing review of King's bounty and always thought it was good game. But I went crazy when I played first HoMM. Such an original game took my legs from under me right away...

Nah cool down, Sha. The original CD is a way too expensive for me plus I don't think there are many original copies around here anyway. Plus, I'm so pissed with 3do that I guess they deserve it anyway. :-P

Ahhh!! Whats the world come to??
What do you mean we all have plenty of pirated software? I for one only pirate stuff from Microsoft on occassion, because its way too expensive, and all the rest of the various programs that I must purchase online, which I can't do...otherwise, if you search me, for every copied game I have, you will find a legitamate copy of it...except for all the foreign games...but...ack ack! Ughh...

At least you admitted it
I see nothing bad in doing so when everyone does it. Here, I should pay for one original game with the pocket money I get for 3 months. Do I look like a sick person? ...

I played Heroes for the first time about two years ago. I wasn't much of a gamer, having nothing to do with computers. My classmates were talking all the time about PC games, and especially Homm2. When H3 appeared they were very excited, and I had a hard time figuring out why.
So, one day, after classes I went to a friend's place and played Heroes for the first time. I played Inferno, and my friend played Stronghold. He had played H2 before and was playing H3 for about a month, so it was a huge surprise for me to be able to defeat his main hero. But my good friend could not take such a beating, so, while I was heading to conquer his town, he sais to me: "Hey, wait a minute, mate! Don't you know that you have no catapult? You can't take my town without one, so go back and by one.
And this is how I got tricked into letting a sure victory out of my hands.

Ah, such a mean thing! :-O But how did you allow him to do this to you?
So, finally, who won?

A didn't "let" him doop me. It was the first time I was playing the game and I was trying assimilate as much knowledge about it as I could. Unfortunately, the catapult thingye escaped me. I had no idea that it is a default possesion of any hero.
And none of us won, because his parents got home early and they made him study for the test that we were going to have in a couple of days
