H5 - The worst!
I don't know if there's anyone else who shares my opinion about h5,but my opinion is that it's STUPID! Who needed all those fancy animations, story 99%,action 1% campaigns and less single scenarios than in HOMM2!! I don't know why most people like the game!! I can play heroes 3 without waiting eternity for the map to load, seeing how the adventure map got ruined[CIRCLES BENEATH HEROES TELLS YOU ANYTHING???].I might be accused that I am far too angry and please excuse me for that, but I almost screamed in frustration when I saw the game! I went too much[including changing many parts of the computer, having to pay much money, and waiting and hoping]for NOTHING! Now,now, don't tell me that h5 is anything original or a "3-D sequel" to H3! No,no,no! It's Ubisoft's pathetic attept to please us with a 3d imitation! It's just NOT Heroes anymore...a ruined adventure map, towns with almost the same roster as in heroes III,and maaany more pathetic imitations!! Dragons as Gods? Dark Elves? Campaigns that have virtually no need for tactics or anything, and combining the h4 hero system with the previous ones just didn't work! Sure,I couldn't expect much from a company that made games like the Bard's Tale and who introduced in my beloved Heroes some elements from the game that I will never play: warcraft!!! This is not h5,this is a bad joke!! They haven't fooled me,noo! Feel free to delete my thread,it's a mere manifestation of my disappointment!Thank goodness I've got Heroes IV,III,II and I right here! This way I'll probably forget that there was ever a heroes 5!

There was a time when I said: HOMM 3 was much better than HOMM 5. The 3D, the long dialogs, a bit worse combat,...
But by the time I understood: Time is changing and the games, too. HOOM 3 is a great evergreen!
Try to see "...the bright side of..." HOMM 5!

I think Heroes V is still the best of the series though Heroes III definitely was more balanced. I didn't really care much for Heroes IV.

What? I think Heroes V is best balanced in the series so far. Only some advantages in short or long games but nothing like Conflux and Necropolis from Heroes III.

It really is a different game, you just have to play it long enough to see the differences (skills, square combat grids, buildings build orders)

I like H5 somewhat more than H3 and H4, though all are great games abd I like all off the expansions. H3 and H4 are quicker to play, but when I want to go deeper in gameplay H5 is the choice. The skill system are tasty complex, the creatures looks great IMO, well most of them (some looks *cough* djinn, gargoyle and names could indeed be changed). The story have alot of potential, and it have some interesting characters. The spells are blazing beautiful and the factions as well.

Agreed. Plus, lots of shiny, shiny dragons, and the music rocks. I have been playing H2 to get a flavor of the music: HV is uberly better. Each faction sounds so different.

Blame your junk PC for that. Sorry, new games have their demands, and it took 2 minutes to load a map when Heroes III was released - it wasn't really different.

I am bored of heroes III, and so are hundreds of other people. You want another H3? Go play H3. H5 is already way too much like H3.

The most funny part is, H5 differs very little from H3. The biggest difference is.. graphics. So, all your moaning is out of sense and logic. Think about it.

Besides, Dark Elves are from Norse Mythology, not Warcraft. Those are Night Elves.

Drakon-Deus, this is a matter of taste. Everyone likes different things.
If you don't like the game, don't play. It was made for fun, and if you don't enjoy it, don't play.
I don't think that saying bad things about the game on HOMM5 community is a smart thing.
It won't convince anyone to stop playing, and it will probably annoy some players.
This is HOMM fans forum.
I don't think it's the right place to say such a negative critism about it.
If you have relevant critism about the game (like: "The system could be better if...") we will be glad to hear it, and it will be suitable for the forum you are posting in (the Altar of Wishes, where you post suggestions to improve HOMM5).
This attitude makes neither of us to feel good.

hehe, why has no one mentioned h2?
I mean, h2 was balanced pretty well, and that, imo, is better then H3, H2 is the best in the series, imo.
btw, if you don't like a game then don't play it, and seriously dude, we don't want your complaints here, I mean, do we really want another KD?

Dark Elves are also from Warhammer. But whatever. I favored III, but V is also a great game. The graphics are very nice, and overall, it's well done. The only annoying things are the occasional mispellings(hire a translator, people!) mismatched sound effects such as the Grim Raider whinnying when it dies, and the lack of two hero classes for each town.
I played H2, a little, and it didn't seem that balanced, seeing as how each of the town's creatures had a marked difference in strength. Warlock seemed to be far and away the best.

Sorry, that's newby judgement ppl look at warlock's flyers, at black dragons, say "omg woot hax imba" and start writing bull about warlock. Too bad their dwellings require so much resources that you'll be constantly thrashed by any faction on non-opulent map.

Yes, I agree.
Besides, the creatures' costs are away too high. You cannot buy even half of the creatures every week, with the money you get per a week, without gold mines (with a statue).
