HOMM Graphics issue

Fisrt of all, let me greet all of you here.

I came here not to promote anything, I just wanted for you to understand background of my question. I would like to note that here first, and offer my apologies to moderators/admins of this site, as, I understand that completely and respect, they might get upset by this topic for any reason.

I joined this forum for some other reasons then just to post here, as I am a HOMM fan over 10 years from now (played them all, from HOMM 1 to HOMM V, but currently do not play active but doing something which I believe is even greater mission. (or at least, my intent is good).

Not to break any of "secret mumbo-jumbo stuff" just at the start, I guess it will be enough to say that I'm currently in development of one project.... Which is greatly related to HOMM game serial.

For all of you who have greater interest in this and would like to find out something more, here's the link to the member wiki page in which I in short intro describe my idea. (if you are willing to read. If not, skip the link)

For all of you who skipped the article in link, in short:
I'm developing a browser based heroes of might and magic clone. But with much planning and ideas.

My question is, if anyone could help:

May I use Heroes graphics (for tiles, and creatures pics) in this kind of project? Or is that forbidden?

I mean: if anyone knows anything about that "legal" stuff, I wouldn't like to get in trouble and I have no problem in using my own art (or some better free game sprites, since I'm not good in design), but I would like to preserve that "taste" of heroes even in my version.

So if anyone could point me to useful info about that, I would much appreciate it.

Thank you very much for your time, and I hope you can forgive my intrusion.

Best regards,

Funkman

Hi Funkman,

I'd like to offer support for your project in terms of hosting, development resources and promotion upon completion.

You can contact me using the Send E-Mail link below this post.

It would be good if you can describe in your e-mail the current state of the project, as well as the level of programming skills that you have.
