Maybe I'm not understanding the request right but as far as I know there has always been damage info. In that text box below the units?
In the same bar it'll show you the damage range of your unit when you hover the mouse over an enemy. Or where you looking for something else?

For my share, to ask to your question: I prefer so far the gameplay when fights are hardly predictable during of....
I hide the ATB bar and quantity of creatures in stacks is invisible.
So, not seeing how many creatures are killed is a must for me.

@Azagal i know that the info is displayed in the box below ATM bar. But when you play your combat on very fast speed is very bored to scroll this combat log to see how much damage your balista done on the first hit when he made all 3 hits in 1 sec. And when some enemy unit do some action right after your balista i want to focus my attention on the battle field instead of scrolling this combat log 1-2 pages to see how much damage my balista do per hit.

Hi,
the flying text showing number of kills is unmoddable, so we cannot change that by the number of damage. All we can do is remaining invisible.
However, we can mod the prediction text under the cursor showing how much kill we'll do and if it will have a retaliate or not.
so, I decided to hide the prediction text under the cursor. I seen it's really useless to change it by the damage value because that have not a real sense before the attack.

newbie request
hi i'm new in posting here but i can say that is the most complex forum regarding HOMM world.
my humble request is: a tutorial for the ones who don't really know how to do all those things in order to play with the creatures that you guys create, and in my opinion, it's a shame that all players can't enjoy your work.
so i hope that some administrator of this forum or somebody who has the time and the willingness to explain every step in order to make the game accept the new creatures and mods.

here as well as in many other places.
It has been explained a million times how to install NCF (which is quite simple btw), but players seem to ignore any advice.
On the other hand, it's the high time to get rid of Phonebook which appears to be more confusing than helpful.

Thank you for the List.
Im looking a old mod, but i really liked it back in time (and im not able to find it, nor remember its name) That mod made heroes in battlefield looks like the icon it resembles. So, if heroe was a Succubu, then the heroe was a succubu in battle field.
Please, anyone knows what im asking about?

Now that HoMM6 is near, got the itch to play some HoMM5 again... Trying to find again the old HoMM5 beta creatures skins mod files:

Anyone know link for changing wight with death knight? Only swapping wight with death knight, not the dragon. I tried some links, but unfortunately the file didnt found. I appreciate if someone can help me give the link. Oh, by the way, the version should be 3.0 since im playing H5 TOE.

Back at the time of Heroes 3 I created my first custom map. In all the subsequesnt Heroes I have created custom maps that I would play a few times a week, it usually takes 1-8 hours to complete a mission. I was wondering if anyone else has done this.
It is a small map, with my Hero in one corner and a random Hero in the other corner. The map has lots of pickups, money, gems and treasures to collect. The goal is to beat the other Hero. The other Hero is fully random.
In the middle of the map is an area guarded on 4 sides by creatures of random strength. Two corners of the map are also guarded by random creatures dividing half the map into your side and the other half the heroes side. You gain strength as fast as you can and have a choice of trying to raid the others Heroes half of the map or accessing the central area. The central area has lots of powerful pickups including the 4 tomes of magic. The 1st to access the central area usually can win due to the power of the pickups. The winning Hero is usally quite strong, 8-17 in each category. One tome of magic is most powerful.
I virtually always win but I am always intrigued by how random the maps are and how hard it may become to win. Also the other random Heroes intelligence and strategy to win amazes me.
I have never really played the game the way it is meant to be played much, the custom map seems better to me. I would be interested in hearing from anyone with a similar experience. It is exciting to me to find this forum and see that it is being updated currently by users. I think HOMM6 should include this custom map gameplay. I can make my current map for HOMM5 T of East available as a download if someone is interested.
I wanted to create a topic called CUSTOM MAPS for the above but did not see how to do that.

is there a way to edit the amount of resources you generate from mines, silos etc, is it also possible to edit what the Peasants generate in the amount of gold, can that ability also be given to the upgraded version of the peasant?
i only have MM5 with no expansion packs ... yet
