down and up on the map
i think that there should be two subterain levels, a regular level, and then a air level to the playing field,
in the air, to move from one contenent to another there are either monoliths, airships like in ff series, and the fly spell, to get from the air level to the ground level you use a heaven gate, and have another sub level so that you have so much room you could run a 12player game easy with out running into eachother untill you have hords of high level troops ready for combat,

new level
I agree that there should be another level, either another dungeon level, or an cloud level (astrial planes). It could have some new elements to it. Maybe an arena to get experience or a school to learn new skills or swap skills.

Good idea!
I like the idea, but IMHO the cloud/astral plane is better than "even deeper dungeons".

Great idea. Agree with it. If there could be one level under, then why not one level above. And in this way the game will support more players...

Back to the subject...
Another level would make maps even larger... So that'd be good! But, if its going to be in the sky, itd be really neat to have you be able to see everything, you know, mines, towns, monsters... It'd be really neat.

A land in the sky
I like the idea of adding new lands, and now possibilities for the mapmakers to fiddle around with and the players to discover. I think it would be an attractive addition for those of us drawn to the XL maps with lots of space and time to build up and explore.
I'm not too sure that I like the airships idea, except as something similar to the ships on the surface and underground. In which case, it would be cool. (I can see the cinematics now... airships, riding across the field... with orcs at the helm... wait a minute! that's Warcraft! )
As far as being able to see everything, I'm not sure about that one either. It could potentially shift the focus of the map, unless it was offering the worldview map like the effects of the "View" spells of HOMM 2 and 3. Otherwise, if a hero is lucky enough to find it early in the game, or is fortunate enough to start in this area at the beginning of the game, the entire map with the players' locations would be revealed completely, and the mystery of playing on the map and exploring through the shrowd would become void.

Nice ideas. But do you think many people would actually take use of all the extra space? alot of people already complain the game is long enough.

my idea about the air ships, was pretty much "there should be some way to move from air contenent to air contenent" maby some kind of astrial telleporter (monoliths?) about the seeing things below, i don't think so, maby there could be a building that magnifies the ground so you can check out say the same as the eye of the magi thingy?
good point, some people just want action, that is why some levels are "to limit fueds... or soemthin like that... everything is built, now go kill your opponant..." but i realy love exploring, and the large maps with a dongeon is good, but NOT ENOUGH!!

Eagle Glance spell for Air Plane
The possibility of viewing the ground plane from the aerial one is too much unbalancing but, what about a spell called for instance "Eagle glance" (Eagle Eye fits better but will produce misconceptions)?. A hero "walking" on the plane of air could cast it and reveal the ground under his feet. The radius of map revealed will as always depend on the Air Magic proficiency of the caster.
This will be useful to explore some areas and take the enemy by surprise, and at the same time less unbalancing that the total revelation the Tower Grial provides. We could also make an upgrade to the Necropolis black fog. If built, it repeals the Eagle Glance spell.

Great idea, to go up in the sky!
Thing is: Would you be allowed to bring non-flying to the sky?
But then again: If you can bring flying creatures underground, why not?
