Guide to start playing TOH for newbies
I can't find felunio's post on it. But for all newbies..
Here's what u need to do to find a game.
First of all, you'll need to install msn
(don't ask for icq or yahoo when the whole toh community is using msn to communicate)
Then in this thread

There is a whole list of players you can add to msn to look for a game.
Then go to http://www.oldapps.com/Hamachi.php
download version 1.0.1.5 (895 KB) of hamachi, and never update to ensure no desync problems.
Next is arranging a game.
As far as i know, hard/no time limit is the usual practice in toh games. Heroic is ok with players sometimes, but enforcing time limit will usually turn players off. So sticking with the usual rules helps more in arranging a game. Remember, you're joining the community, not the community joining you, so you gotta get used to the rules 
Next is to never give up when losing first few games.
Being new to online games, first few games for new players usually ends up in a horrible thrashing, after such a loss, newbies tend to give up which is sad.. After few games, take experience from the older players and u can start winning i'm sure. So don't give up !!!
Try to get yourself a clan , (3 members/clan)

Will get a game easier this way.
If you have problems getting one, you can post "looking for clan" in the forums
Staying more in chatroom helps as well.
You need to have java installed to access the chatroom , can be downloaded at http://www.java.com/en/download/index.jsp
Maybe there is more to add overall I'm not so sure, also a link on this at main page makes it easier to view?

When u installed hamachi, and try to arrange games with players thru msn, they will ask u to join in a certain network. From there u can see players online also.

Guys
Some players don't have java and as a result don't ever get into toh chatroom

Sq if you can add this in your guide , And ves if you can add that also on main page , It will help people with that problem .

Hi,
- I just got my super comp back and am spending a "few min" to update the shiat again  and I have been to hama and I d/l the 1.0.1.5 ..tip top...or so I thought... everytime I try to start it it states " You have started.. bla bla.. and would you like to update ? "
I type :
1) No = it closes
2) Yes = Tries to update.... it stays at 1.0.1.5
I tried to enter ( the 1 time I installed it ) Reth/Reth ( Nice fella and easy going ( personally and game wise - Sorry Rethwen ) and it said "error - network not excisting" ' ish - along those lines.
- Anyone ? ,- NevermindSpy ?

I'll tell ya what ,just install (or reinstall) the latest version of hamachi.. And do the fix that lets you see games..

Now when ToTE is out im back for couple more games. I thought ill copy what i previously posted so that nobody needs to look for it. I think all have been said already but maybe theres something new.
1)Install msn communicator
2) Add ALL contacts from the list that is available in "meeting players" topic. Its essential to add all of them. Most of them doesn't play anymore do don't be discouraged if you add people that are not available at all, if you add all you wont miss people that still play.
3) When you add a contact , that person gets the info that you added him and most often adds you too. Therefore they will see you in their msn. You can use your info note to help you finding a game. Write in there that you are looking for a toh game.
4) Dont use random names, as a msn name use your toh nick.
5) When you see that somebody is looking for a game (because his info says so) you can ask him if you can play with him, you may try to ask people that are available even if they don't have the info but keep in mind that they may be busy and may not reply or might not have time to talk/play so don't push them.
6) its difficult to find a game via chatroom, if you are really interested in games , use msn
7) Nearly all toh players use hamachi network so make sure you have it before you start looking for a game
8)Some people want clan games only so as soon as you get 3 games and become a footman try to get into a clan, it will help you find a game (even if you are not interested in clans)
Ingame tips
1)Remember that people play better than computers so its strongly advised to learn to win vs comp before going multilayer(unless you play with people at your lvl)
2) Its good idea to learn to kill neutral monsters in single player game so if you have difficulties with this do some games vs comp. Even if you think you know that , you are wrong, i have been playing this game for a year now and i still learn how to do it.
3) Make sure you know the map you are going to play on, unless its blind map for both players , this factor makes huge difference.
I think that are most basic things that help finding a game. Basically its not that hard to get a game. Its more difficult before and early afternoon and easier in the evening. But there is almost always a game in progress so if you are searching active enough you should find one within an hour.

This is a great idea...I made a room called DIEGIS pass toh...pls join...is only me there...and i'm boring 
I use to have another, bu 'cose i formated my comp I lost them....
