Poll Question:
Best Hero Class
Unlike H3, H5 Hero Classes hve their own Racial Skills and Abilities that mostly better if combined by their own troops.
In H3, it is no problem for Demoniac or Heretic, for example, hired in Dungeon town to lead Dungeon troops : Troglodytes, Minotaurs, or Black Dragons. But in H5, DemonLord hired in Dungeon town will make their Gating skill useless. Same as if Knight hired in Necopolis town where it is impossible for Training skill to upgrade Ghost into Vampires.
So, ignoring the Orc Faction, which is the best hero for you?
1. Knight with Training skill and these abilities.
2. Wizard with Artificer skill and these abilities.
3. Ranger with Avenger skill and these abilities.
4. Warlock with Elemental Chains skill and these abilities.
5. Necromancer with Necromancy skill and these abilities.
6. Demonlord with Gating skill and these abilities.
7. Runemage with Runelore skill and these abilities.

ha-ha-ha.Warlock,knight Training abiliti is cool but,takes meny gold.Warlock,sure he can cast powerful spells,but for now Avenger and Runemage are the coolest.an the warlock cast runes-no,can the knght kill one tier 7 creature within the first levels-no,so the runemage and the avenger are better .And the dwarves have cool alts-the coolest looking alts<and the sharpshooter is the most powerfull tier 3 creature.

For me it is Necromancer. Very easy to creep and usually lossies are minimum. Warlock is a nice to, but I dont like that he is doing all job and his armies are MOSTLY as a meat shield(execpt witch spells& blood furies).

Necromancer, as his skill is the only one that works without a building AND without specific creatures. Necromacers can also get Leadership or a Morale Artifact to counter the effects of dead on shiny happy troops.

Warlock is the best Hero to use with other factions. Their racial translates the best to other factions.

the knight is very versatile; as long as you have access to light magic, you can't go wrong with a knight.
Warlocks are great, but only two factions have an artie merchant, and warlocks depend on the artifacts pretty much. So, that leaves dungeon and academy, and academy doesn't have lvl4 destructive without much gamble, so warlock is a dungeon hero and that's all.

Hmm... Its mostly about how you build the hero, but Fortress is the best  But well...Yeah..
