Darknes, Fire, Ice and Sins - the different Inferno concept
Look, here is my new inferno concep and it features a town - not so blazing but sooner dark in the beggining and dark creatures - like the alts, then if you pick one line up of upgrades your town gets blazing and firy but if you and so do you creatures - inferno standart upg's. But If you pick the other line-up (the alts) they get Icy (the more firy upg. buildings you have - the more fire on the backgrownd and the more icy ones - the more ice - can make interesting mixtures). Besides - every deamon should feature some of the 7 deadly sins. For example:
Succubus - lust
Devil - Sloth(he's a teleporter)
Pit Lord - Gluttony (Mind the word LORD - they just need to make it fat )
And so on (uuuuh, HELP).
Besides I thing the alt for hell hound shoulfd be 2headed and be named ortus (in greek mythology a 2 headed giant dog brother of cerberus)
So how do you like it (I'll include it in my H6 project topost here)

I like it, but I think this has been done, though it was a while ago. Good concept. Isn't theft a sin? : Familiars.

Theft on itself is not a sin, simply a crime. However, greed is a sin and theft often indulges greed.
The sin of Rage could apply to both the Horned Demon-line of creatures as the Hell Hound line.
That leaves sins jealousy and pride. Those are the hardest however.

Pride could go to the Nigtmares. They've got something proud and majestic, don't you think?
But does this have anything to do with gameplay?

Blah, then it's not worth it... Honestly, there are already some good descriptions, and I doubt it could add anything signiicant to the storyline. HOMM5 has already been accused of being too christian, so adding thost sins is only going to make it worse.

I don't remember...Well, not really because they were christian, but because they were promoting christianity...I read an article about it somewhere...

Hmmm ... I don't know much about this, but it does make sense in a way; I heard the changed the name from Grail to Tear Of Asha for the exact same reason, to avoid the references to Christian mythology.

Religious problems were so much easier to avoid back when the Demons weren't Demons, but monstrous aliens called the Kreegans.

That would automatically make all D&D christian? C'mon, that was one of the worst moves made by 3DO - Demons are not demons but aliens, but they look like demons, smell like demons and call themselves demons, and Angels are clones of super soldiers But this is not thread for that,so lets stop, shall we?

I just can't imagine icy demons.
About the seven sins, that can be a nice idea. It would be much more interesting if you change the gameplay a bit according to the sins, like Tenaka said, because this way it's only about the descriptions, which is a minor part of the game.
I think that new abilities should be fitted to the creatures, according to the sins, but remember the creatures should be kept balanced.
For example, Greedy Imps can steel gold from the enemy, instead of mana.
Lusty Succubus can temp creature to get a bit closer to them, so the Succubus' shot will do more damage.
etc.

I'll just defend myself a little here, forgive me if I go off topic a bit.
The reason for the Kreegans looking, sounding, and (apparently) smelling like Demons was detailed by Escaton in Might and Magic VIII. We don't know what the Angels were exactly, but I'm guessing that they were cyborgs clothed in flesh or something. Unlike yourself and a few thousand others, I don't feel that this was a bad move. It was a unique and interesting subplot throughout the series, and it also created continuity between the earlier and later Might and Magic storylines. How many other games can you name which have that kind of crazy yet very innovative storyline? Would you rather a game with generic Demons from the pits of Hell with no truly distinct characteristics other than the fact that they like to burn things?
As far as I can tell from your signature, you are a fan of Legacy of Kain. That game is full of alien-like references such as the Hylden (which are surprisingly similar to the Kreegans). Surely if you think that the Kreegans were one of 3DO's worst moves, you feel the same way about other similar ideas. Dosen't really make much sense. Also, not being religious at all myself, I don't think, or care, whether or not D&D is Christian or non-Christian or whatever, but there's no denying that religion is where Demons came from.
I'm just making a point. Not picking a fight or anything, and no offence intended. Once again, please forgive me if I went off topic.

Well can't you tell that "cyborg angels" don't sound cool? It reminds me of some cheap SF story

And I can tell that you have no clue about LoK games Hyldens are way deeper than alien foes (although LoK - Blood Omen 2 did screw the story a little...)
But hey,Cepheus, let's not argue, you're right, this is not a place for that,it is a matter of taste,if you want,I'll remove my post to show I don't want to pick a fight with anyone,it's just hard to state your opinion on internet...

I agree with you, Cyborg Angels don't sound too cool for a fantasy game, but that probably isn't even what they really are - it was just a guess from me. If by some miracle the old employees of New World Computing ever decide to finally tell us what their Angels really are, well... I'd probably throw a party or something. And please don't remove your post, because everyone is entitled to their opinion. Yours was reasonable and not unfriendly, so let it stand. I know how hard it is to have a debate on the internet without offending someone in some way.
Btw I've been playing Legacy of Kain for about seven years, ever since I was eight years old. Trust me, I know those games even better than Heroes. I even wrote the most recent wikipedia entries on Hash'ak'gik, Dumah and Rahab. I just didn't go into detail on the Hylden as this is a Heroes forum and would probably annoy others. I promise to be more clear in future.
EDIT: Forgot to excuse myself: sorry to everyone for the offtopic discussion.
