Ironwill's BRAINBUSTER!
That's right, I'm BACK!
And to celebrate my return I'd like to STUMP Angelito with a tuff one, just as he has stumped me with his library questions. And of course all of you are welcome to come up with the answer as well
---------Conditions----------
I will try to narrate a scene back in the dark ages. The scene is to be considered a fantasy circumstance based on Homm3 ROE. All game mechanics and game information is the BASIS while you dig for the answer to my question. Furthermore, the "enemy" in the scene should just be considered a computer opponent for the sake of the puzzle. All set? Then let's get our feet dirty shall we? ......
----------Start--------------
We start our scene off in the lovely port town of WatersEdge, where the regiment commander is speaking to one of his trusty but panicked scouts...
Commander Christian: Calm down soldier! Now tell me again of this Armada!?
Scout: Aye sir! I sighted them not more than 20 minutes ago and have been at full gallop to get back to deliver the news. They are headed this way bearing the mark of Krewlod, our present barbarian enemy!
Commander Christian: Very well lad, tell me of their numbers. How many ships doth approach our shores?
Scout: Its an armada sir! !
Commander Christian: hrmm... I see. (the commander ponders the situation in silence for a few minutes)
Scout: Sir! your orders!? The enemy will be landing within the hour!
Commander Christian: Calm down young soldier. You have not the experience of battle hardened veterans such as myself. The solution to our mutual problem is a simple one. Go grab as many men as you can, soldier or not. Give them (A) and tell them to (B). That should make your frightening armada turn tail and seek invasion elsewhere!
Scout: (looking at the Commander bewildered by his calm exterior) ummm...
Commander Christian: Those are your orders boy! Time is of the essence .. now get moving!
Scout: Yes sir!
The scout follows Christian's orders of (A) and (B) and the battlestrategy worked. The Barbarian Armada did not land ashore and sailed away leaving the townfolk of WatersEdge cheering in triumph!
----------END-----------
What were orders (A) and (B)?
K there you have it Time to see who knows their Heroes

This is pretty simple
(A) starts with an "S", (B) starts with a "D".

Maybe give them Axes to cut wood, and tell them to Build ships.
That Armada can not land on ships.

Give them Shovels and tell them to Dig around untill someone finds the Grail?
And then they would take the grail, make the Colossus, put it in the port, barbarians would think God knows what and run away.
Yay

Grats Guarder even though Angelito knew it already
If you dig a hole on open landable shores... NPC boats cannot land there. Some kind of glitch I suppose
And Conan also came up with another solution... simply line up soldiers all down the coast so boats cant land. Just hope theres not more than 8 landable spots
P.S. I think Binabek had the answer before everyone though..he just phrased it in a nice funny comment that comes up everytime you dig a hole.

Angelito got it first.
If the coast is at a diagonal like this / , then you need three holes to form a right triangle like this .:
Also, if playing against the AI, you can block the coast with boats. I have never seen the AI cast scuttle boat.
