Music tastes > rock/metal

Yes, I saw your thread William, and wanted to start one myself(in music-language; I made a cover of your thread to fit my own needs )

Well, to much good to write a band-list here... but I like some rock and much metal. Mostly there are the roughest kind I listent to, like black metal and such some bands I can recommend is:

Tvangeste (symphonic black metal)
Deathstars (industrial metal)
Dimmu Borgir (symphonic black/extremt metal) or this one.
Behemoth (black metal)
All Shall Perish (black metal) (need to login)
Europe (pop rock)
Deep Purple (rock/hard rock)
Cradle of Filth (black metal... discussed if it is though)
Dope (metal)
In Flames (metal)
Satyricon (black metal)
Marilyn Manson (goth rock)

And so on... but this is enough What rock/metal bands you like?

Way to go dude!
I've been thinking of making such a thread myself...

I see you mostly prefer black...
Just one thing, Manson isn't officially gothic rock... He himself says his music is shock rock; a new genre which he invented (I think you'll agree Manson's music IS different from all the other)...

I thought I might add up some more representatives of different "cults" to the list:

Jimmy Hendrix - God Along with Elvis, Eric Clapton and others
BB King - Rock&Roll
AC/DC - Hard Rock
Guns&Roses - Heavy/Urban Rock
Carlos Santana - Latin Rock
Kiss - Glam Rock
Slayer - Speed/Death Metal
Blind Guardian - Power Metal
Azra - Ex-YU Rock (had to add it... though people usually haven't heard of it outside the Balkans, it's one of my favourite bands ever)

There's more but I can't remember right now.
Other bands I like are numerous, the list is huge (and it goes all the way from Elvis and BB King, across Pink Floyd, Dire Straits and Eric Clapton to Slayer and Marilyn Manson)... I guess I like everything that I like the sound of, or the lyrics. But in 90% of cases I just like to listen different ways of playing guitar (that's probably why I've never been too fond of rap or electronic music...)

EDIT:
Forgot to mention Led Zeppelin. They deserve an honourable mention since they made my all-time favourite song - Stairway to Heaven

You know Guns and Roses reformed with all but the lead singer to form Velvet Revolver, good band

Also I think that metal should go in the metal thread, but if this thread is about rock then my all time favourite band;

AUDIOSLAVE

Yes but there can never be enough of them
"If you don't have anything useful to say wuahhwuahhwuahh" Vengeance is sweet

Anyways.

We must also include Punk Rock. That is an icky matter due to all those "Green Day" bands that appeared lately, so I take them as a different kind of music. Though they do have an ok message from time to time in their songs, I just don't like their sound.

The best representatives of the TRUE Punk Rock are The Clash and Sex Pistols.
There are also some great Irish musicians of that sort, for example the Dropkick Murphys.

Wow, this thread covers quite a lot of music...

Yeah, that's kinda why I took both rock AND metal... if I should take from what I listened most to it would be like a thread about black/death/goth/industrial metal

Some of you who like the "heavier" stuff should try out Norther. It's a Finnish melodic death metal-band.
