Which units will you choose while playing your favourite faction in TotE?

That of course when ToTe comes...

For me (dungeon lover)i'd play with :
1-Stalkers (just cooler and higher dmg )
2-Blood Furies (for the higher initiative)
3-Minotaur Captains (do i need to say anything??)
4-Grim Raiders (the riders charge is alot better and the ride by attack isn't really worth it )
5-Deep Hydra (acidic blood just sucks T.T)
6-Shadow Mistress (if u can frezny an enemy stack with whip strike that'd be so awesome )
7-Red Dragon (INCINERATE )

Acidic blood is a joke. The enemy can more easily take advantage of that ability by having it target your own troops than YOU can take advantage of it by having it target HIS troops.

Not exactly my favorit faction but heck, I'll give it a shot for Inferno

Lvl 1 > Depends. If you choose pitlords and like casting meteor showers (like me) you could pick Quasits. But unless their meteor shower damage gets upped a bit, ehhh.. Might be best to stick with Familiars. Even Demonlords with destructive will probably do more damage. Besides, probably won't go for Pitlords (sob) anyway!

Lvl 2 > Leaper's defence is HORRIBLE... Probably stick with Horned Oversees, even if they are fairly useless. Then again, Horned Leapers might be better for creeping : leap = +50 % damage.

Lvl 3 > Cerberus, chances you can hit more target with Fire Breather are too slim... Not worth the damage decrease to the primair targets.

Lvl 4 > Not a challenge, Succubus Temptress. Chainshot is perhaps nice but it doesnt do much damage, I rather have a free puppet master shot Especially if Demonlord doesn't get it in the mage guide level 5. Might split the stack even and ditch the tier 2 units.

Lvl 5 > Probably Hellmare due to the increased damage.

Lvl 6 > This just pains me, no competition. Pit Spawn is better and more solid melee unit. Although... Pit Lords are more effective against higher tiers where Pit Spawns are more effective against lower tiers (larger stacks)...  But the insane increase in stats just makes Pit Spawns pwn Pit Lords, sadly... 27 Attack for a tier 6 is insane.

Lvl 7 - I LIKE PITLORDS! ARCHDEVILS!!! But wait, ack, no, too bad, Arch Demon has pwner stats... >_< I hate Nival.

Screw that, I go for Archdevils... Summoning Pit Lords is way more usefull than a bit of added stats for Arch Demons.. And the decreased speed / init.

I can't really say which academy unit I'd like to play...I'm difintely also going to try the orcs out, and see what they can do. But again, I can't really say, because statistics and abilities on paper don't really prove anything, I've got to try them out on the battlefield.

Edit: Actually, I think it depends on who your oppponent is. The Gremlin saboteurs would be very nice to use against Deleb - take out the killing ballista -, while an Obsidian golem, although It's not as good in battle as a steel golem, would be pretty efficient against the Warlock's magic.

Why, indeed, so it says. Can anyone confirm this, because I would guess it was a mistake, and that the spells they actually can cast is Slow, Vulnerability and Confusion, which is what the Matriarch have in their spellbook also.

you can cast frenzy. My shadow matriarchs did cast it a few times with whip strike. Not that it's useful, tho (another attack of the frenzied unit will hit your matriarchs for sure and will enjoy a power boost >_> )

As moonlith loved about them: Summon Pitlord! With a dead stack of lousy Leepers they are allright to get rit of and who dont like a stack of pitlords? .. Ill go for leepers and Devils

Depends on tactics often witch creature i would choose but i have clear favorites among them still.

Sylvan:

lv1: Dryad is my early game choice but depending on enemy i will select Sprites as they have Cleansing. Against Dungeon for instance i take Dryads.

lv2: Blade Singer is superior over War Dancer but it has pretty high cost. Dancer has served me as fodders until now so i don't think i see big difference here (tougher fodder perhaps)

lv3: Sharp Shooter all the way! If they ignore 75% of enemy defense on every range attack i think they are very strong high lv killers (even tough they don't have range penalty after all) Adding to that +1 Initiative will easily make them my #1 shooter in Sylvans army.

lv4: I dunno Druid Elders spells are so good in early game so i think i mainly go whit them. Still i don't know how effective Power Feed is (could come handy whit imbue + rain of arrows)

lv5: I don't think Bond of Light can beat Aura of Magic Resistance but main idea of it is to use it whit Resurrection spell of course (lv3s are good too)

lv6: I will mainly select Anger Treant just to have fun whit faster and more offensive Trents. For hard competitive games Take Roots might still be better choice when Entangling Roots is much need skill.

lv7: Sapphire Dragon all the way. Elves often have good luck so it's more likely that Sapphires breath attack is often longer than 2 titles. Random shape attack will be interesting tough might not always be a good thing. (Now that i think about it i found Cyclopes Beam attack be a little similar whit these Sapphire Dragons Rainbow Breath attack)

Yes i know but it looks like Cyclops have no control over the beam and Rainbow Breath aren't controllable either.

The Z shape attack is interesting i tough how it may actually work but it's perhaps simple 4 hex attack like:

..ZZ..
..ZZ..
..C...

for me, choices for Haven will be like this:

Tier1: if Brutes still have both taxpayer and bash, it's definetly Brute. incase they would end up only with taxpayer i still say Brute.

Tier2: depends of the opponent but against factions that can get high DEF, Marksmen. tho i would still use Crossbowmen for early creeping.

Tier3: Squires hands down. Cleave on a 8 init unit is waste and not worth losing shield allies.

Tier4: depends how the new ability of Battle Griffins works. but at this point, either unit could be good.

Tier5: Zealot against dark magic abuser factions, Inquisitor against others.

Tier6: Paladins against dark magic abuser factions(lay hands) Champions against shooter reliant factions. champion charge could still maybe hit them behind their tanks. or if there is two stacks, i could even take both

Tier7: depends on the Blood Angels stats. Divine Vengeage and Righteous Might aren't hot enough to get rid of good fighter with resurrection unless the Blood Angels have good fighter stats too. for now i would say Archangel tho, until we know the exact stats. but i do intend to test them, lvl 7 caster sounds awesome <3

After I've tried the Orcs, I think I will test Fortress next.

Tier 1: I'm not sure on this one. The Shield-guard has better initiative and would probably be better at creeping. The Stone Defender however has slightly better stats.

Tier 2: I will go with the Harpooner. It has better Damage-output and pulling enemies closer will help the overal rather slow Fortress units.

Tier 3: White Bear over Black Bear here, it has better Attack and still has above avarage Defense. I also like the Morale-bonus of Bear-Roar

Tier 4: Again I'm not sure. The Battle Rager seems to have a slighly higher survivability and some nice abilities. But I don't think it could match the Damage-output of a runed-up, berserking Berserker.

Tier 5: Depends on the 6th tier, Patriarchs seem to go better with Thunder Thanes, while Keepers go better with Warlords.

Tier 6 If my suspision is correct, then the Warlord and the Thunder Thane's abilities get swapped(makes more sense that way), then it would depend on the faction I'm fighting. Immunity to lightning could give a slight edge over Magic factions.

Tier 7: Lava for magic for it's lack of the shielding, Magma for might.

Fortress:

Tier 1: Stone defender - They will last longer

Tier 2: Ill stick with skirmisher, With Soldiers luck their cripling wound is great

Tier 3: Tough one indeed... White bear rider have great bonus but black bear is just so lovely.. Ill stick with him too

Tier 4: Battlerager , they seem supreem - but lets see ...

Tier 5: Again tough one, other spells, Other ability - but for me avenging Flame sucks - they have to die before it works.. :S  and magic resistance... Ill stick with Patriach

Tier 6: Thunder thane (with flame abilities) ... I guess their abilities are really Wicked..

Tier 7: Magma Dragon FTW ..

You're both pretty much picking a fight right now...
And that's off-topic...Discuss it in the 'fortress overpowered' thread if you must.
Although I have to say, Lizardmen, some of your choices are a bit strange...
And of course, everyone ignores my post...
