Yes...
I like the idea that sometimes magic not perform totally reliably, but it shouldn't be that often, and I think maybe only for the very high level spells rather than the low level spells. But- perhaps as a sample each mage, so if the highest level spell a mage knows is 3rd level, then his 3rd level spells have a 10% chance of malfunctioning in some way. A total failure would be strange, I think it would be more fun if a random 3rd level spell were cast instead with 50/50 chance of being cast on either side. Or whichever level spell were to be cast.
It can't be a very high percentage though, oterhwise it can't compete with the might hero skills such as offense or the new form of that skill in H4 which is 100% reliable.

It becomes more and more like the MM games
first, the master/ grandmaster thing, now the might issue. I can't say I am surprised. Next thing to see is a Knight who can't learn magic schools to more than advanced and a magic hero who can't learn more than expert offense. Makes sense. But then no one will want magic heroes... look what happened to the MM games.
Even though a party with no Cleric or Wizard is senseless and equal to suicide. On the other hand a part with 4 monks...
Oh, I beg your pardon. This is what happens when a MMer joins the discussion.
