Guild Wars Music Videos
In real Life my name is Jake Batchelor I am 32 about to turn 33 on May 1st.
On March 12, 2007 I created a YouTube account for the sole purpose of collecting and organizing Music Videos based on a Massive Multiplayer Online Game called Guild Wars.
Guild Wars Music Videos:
60% = little kids recording themselves playing
30% = People dubbing their own music over the opening movies
5% = failed attempts at making good music videos
3% = People who were bored and made something funny
2% = High quality Top rated awesome Guild Wars Music videos
Dare to be different. Show the whole world what's inside you. The videos you create and post here will last forever.

I've been watching a few of these. Is there only a set number of dance moves? Is anybody creating their own?

FriendOfGunnar,
The link you gave has been in the Dance Channel for a long time. Check the first link I gave at the top of this thread. You will find even greater GWMV's than the one you gave. It's what I spend most of my time doing lately.
That's Paxine and her vid of the dancing witches. It's awesome. Everyone loves it.

Great videos, its rare too see any good music videos for any game (with possible exeption of counter strike).
And your statics arent that bad yet, take look at this:
WoW Music Videos:
93% = little annyoing kiddies recording themselves playing
4% = People dubbing their own music over anything
2% = failed attempts at making good music videos
0.99% = People who were bored and made something funny
0.000000001% = High quality Top rated awesome WoW Music videos

LoL
That's rather funny Darkshadow! It's too bad about World of Warcraft. Poor devils never even knew what they were getting into. Ah well, perhaps one day they'll see the light and join up for a few free games of Guild Wars.
I'd just like to say that I've worked very hard to make my Dance Channel successful. I do hope you find it somewhat pleasant.

Yes
Darkshadow and Lord Crusader are correct. It is quite fun. Fun does not accurately fit the description. It is brilliant. I am hosting the community that is slowly emerging in the same sort of spirit of Heroes Community. It's a fan thing, much of which is centered on YouTube. Centered on the aspect of moviemaking and music. It's really quite fascinating.
A Word On Gamer Moviemaking
I was giggling so hard when she told youtube to kiss her ass while showing the picture of her ranger's butt! Which brings me to exactly why I made this response. According to some sort of law, once you have purchased the game guild wars, the material is hence forth yours to do with as you please. However, as we are all learning at an alarming rate, many of our Guild Wars Movies are still being contested for copyright infringement. I have been looking quite a bit into the matter to see why they have targeted our fan-made movies. As luck would have it, our problem lies in the music we use. Game material is yours once you purchase it while a song from a band with copyrights is not yours to do with as you please. Apparently copywritten music extends beyond the realm of reason and good judgment even if you, the guild wars moviemaker, are in fact not earning a single bit of profit from using it in your movies.
How do we know for certain that it is the music that is causing our videos to be contested? The simple answer is to gain some important perspective from the makers of the Red vs Blue movies. If you go to their roosterteeth website you will find they have an entire set of their movies for 69 bucks. They can do this because they do not use copywritten music in their fan-made movies which are filmed in a setting from a game they bought at the store.
How do those of us who are not seeking profit defend ourselves against such ridiculous copyright claims on our Guild Wars Movies? If you have been keeping up with the banter among our fellow Guild Wars Moviemaker comrades, you might have heard RocDisJoint remark that he believes we can stifle their search engines by extending or adding to our movies past the time of the song itself. I completely agree and would further add it might be helpful to change the title of your movies by ensuring you don't have the song name in the title. Others have suggested not including the song name in the credits or keywords or descriptions at all. But I don't think the keywords have been tapped into by these malicious copyright search engine monster programs yet. If they were then all my movies would be contested. I have only ever had one movie contested. It was my first movie using the sony vegas program. And it did not have the song name in the title but the movie was in fact exactly the same length as the song itself.
This means Guild Wars Moviemakers who don't use coprighted songs in their works are free to copyright their own Guild Wars Movies. Take for example, Oggycheese's hilarious computer voices, Pantsma's profanity-filled comedy sketches, Queen Kitiara's Soul Slayer, and others like them. These people are free to copyright those movies because they mostly use sound effects and voice acting exactly like the makers of Red vs Blue. Once you have the copyrights to your movie you can then sell them for any price you choose, provided all persons involved in your movie agreed to terms about the profit of that movie.
