I think we all can safely agree that barbarian duelists are grossly underpowered and just suck?
I haven't won even 1 game with barb duelists..

Its plain impossible to win.
No ranged units except Centaurs which are gone after the first turn if the enemy decides to shoot them with his powerful ranged units/spells.
This, coupled with the lack of spells and the slow speed/initiative allows ANY race to simply wait in defensive formations against barbs, cutting them down before they approach....and even if they manage to approach they will be low on bloodrage, and owned by any melee unit.
Moreover, the Cyclops, which are the only decent unit in their lineup, have VERY LOW initiative....in most games I played I doubt that they acted more than thrice...and in most cases the enemy was able to exploit their stupidness, causing the to hit my own units in retaliations....compare with any lv7 unit...and cry.
And since Ive to play a single "proper" TotE game yet, I fear that Barbarians could be grossly underpowered even in regular games...
Because these duels proved that barbs require much more troops in order to win...and frankly I doubt that they have very cheap troops or higher growt rates

In multi they are actually pretty strong, they just require careful play and planning.

One of the benifits of Stronghold is that it can pretty much counter any given town. Some it takes a lot of luck to counter, however.
For instance, vs Haven..Shatter Light and the rest combat skills. Might need Defense + evasion too tho (Dang Crossbowmen). Not that it is guaranteed to win, hardly the case. It can just even the playing field out a little bit more.
Dark is it's biggest problem though, as they have no clensing ability.
Given time, effort, and a little bit of luck with skills (baring memory mentors that is) they have a chance vs all the towns.

I believe that the responses were concerning the end of Romanov's post where he was questioning whether or not Stronghold was any good at actual multiplayer games.
As a further response to that post, yes the Stronghold troops are pretty cheap and do have high growth rates.

In duals as is they are probably the worse. The only thing they have going for them is adaptability (in MP). Since that is not available in Duels they really suffer.

You are kidding right? Stronghold cheap haha. The Cyclops and Wyverns are one of the most expensive creatures for there tiers. And the most hard part when playing Stronghold is the incredibly high building cost both upgrades and normal(Resources and gold are better in enourmous amounts)

I did a test with the three heroes - all Hotseat with myself, against Orson, which is a standard Duel hero with no cards up his sleeve (no mind-control or so). The results were:
vs Shak'Karukat: the Barbarians wins easy with most goblins left.
the poisonous wyverns didn't had their chance of poisoning here, but it would'nt changed much as his special doesn't include poison damage
vs Haggash: Very equal, with one Warmonger left
Her ranged attack lasts very short, but she's saved by the increadibly though Warmongers.
vs Garuna: Orson wins easy.
Garuna isn't very tough..
I tested many Duel Heroes this way before, as I created 36 new ones for all fations together. I don't see the outcome very different; but with mind-controlling included it can look quite different.

Garuna is the worst duel hero in points if you go to the custom point thing she has a lower value than all other heroes. Eruina and Jhora are higher than the rest by the way

Yes, Garuna is pretty bad. But on the opposite (and a bit off-topic)
Are there anyone who doesn't think Karli is riddicilously owerpowered? I couldn't find another duel hero that stands a chance against him (and at least not Garuna).
Before ToE it was Deleb and Jhora that were too overpowered, and now Karli and a few other too damn unbeatable. Where's the balance (hopefully this will be patched if they bother)
Among the barbarians, the balance is also pretty bad. But at least mr Wyvern does it pretty well.

Yeah,i also tested Karli against all heroes(against Autocombat) and i defeated all of them except Sinitar.Karli is quite powerful with all runes and incredible strong balista and defence. But when i played against Sinitar he scored luck on the first meteor shower(of course when AI plays always scores luck and when i play nothing)destroyed almost all of my troops.

Again off-topic (perhaps we should continue the discussion in the rune-mage thread). But it affects the Barbarians that Karli kills everything . Take away Greater Rune, and it helps a lot. Boost Garuna, and give Haggash some better iniative. Her archers are good for only 1 round. Also, Untamed Cyclopses are way too dangerous to your own troops. You must pretty much hold them away from goblins, so they are able to do melee attacks against the middle of the board from the start. It's far too easy to send your troops on the side of them.

I've had a bad experience on going against Shak'karukat
It was 3 on 3, and Shak'karukat was second (i was going against my friend)
It was Orcs vs. Humans (Haven)
It was hell on earth (okay, it could be because I suck)
But those Foul Wyvern (see the pun) and those Blind Birds Just refused to die. And if that three blind mice's pet lost a few numbers, all they did was eat what was left. (it was their and my second hero! Imagine all those corpses/5 star dinner for Pao-kai!)
But as I said, it might just be me
