I wish there was more use for water in the game. I think the idea of an island map is cool, but there aren't really many of them.
Navigation is cool on maps with many islands though, unless the islands are all very close. Then water walk is better.

skills that are over-rated:
- wisdom (who needs 4th level spells anyway?)
- intelligence (mysticism is better)
- archery (go with artillery instead)
- pathfinding (not needed in maps like dw)
- tactics (only good for tactically running away)
Oh, yeah, right. Inferno and ammo carts. Shoot, shoot at your own nice army... some casualties are always welcome, really. Sorcery for fortress... why should be bother advacning on spell power? *laughs*

archery suprised me the other day
I was using hack as main, had titans gladius, golden bow with exp offense and exp archery (about 30 or so attack) but my 95 grand elves (had a couple stacks join) were doing 1000 damage each shot (so 2000 a round) very sweet. and that was against my opponents main hero (castle troops)

Intelligence
This way the grand elves do DOUBLE damage TWICE (so that's double damage multiplied by four per round most of the time!) and Dendroids and Dwarves move twice as fast as well as because of all their specialties spell resistance which is AWESOME! Sorry.. got a little carried away, but when all the benefits line up this is one awesome town, especially against tower and inferno.

Air/Water/Fire...all depends on what my mage guilds present to me.
Even on water maps I'm loathe to have my main hero with Navigation...except if that's their specialty.
And Shae, I knew that Lith was a beginner at this game. He seems to think that the Rampart is worthwhile as a town. LOL

I prefer skills with an "all or nothing" advantage to the percentage skills(i.e. teleporting a stack hydras over a wall with expert water magic as opposed to a 15% reduction in damage when they finally engage the enemy).

What's better than having your Archangels strike twice EVERY time you fight? It's like having a spell that said "double the number of your archangels", and who wouldn't want that?
After +3 Morale the chances of getting to move again stay the same(i don't remember the exact percentages) so the only use in having more morale is maybe to counteract some creatures' specials...(like bone dragon)...

Offence: im playing stronghold
Mystemics: i need spellpoints (DUH)
Tactics: nice to get a headstart
Wind or Fire magic: nice to have one special magic!
Leadership: good moral Always good to have
artillery: .....what milena said i think..
resistance: if ur opponoment have good magic its alway nice to resist a lightning bolt witch deals 300 damidge
Wisdom. nice if u have spells like dimesons door and chainlightning
I hate/do not need:
Eagle eye: no need for that!
Learning: im smart enufh
Ballistic: i have cyclops
This is my oppinion........ i think!

LoL, no mysticism with town portal thtas for sure!!!
When i feel i need it ill "camp in my castle at the end of one turn, full spell points next day.....
By the way my hero will usually have these skills:
1. Wisdom
2. Sorcery
3. Fire
4. earth
5. air
6. armorer
7. offense
8. logistics
This is not in order, and the skill selection depends on map.
