Titans in Heroes 5 compared to previous chapters
hi .. Dont take this in a wrong way but i hate how titan looks this time << ok ok we get it .. thats not what iam here for
just wanted to say is there anyone else besides me that thinks titan sucks in H5 ? sucks overall .. look , stats , no match for BD now like used to be !
i mean compared to H3 titan no way !
i tried to convince my self many times but i couldnt .. i used to wipe out everything in my way in H3 but in H5 omg i so hate him its like if they made him in slow motion and 190 HP ? where the hell is the lighting sword ... duh
what do you think ..

Im sure there is some place better for this thread to be, some guys will probably tell you that. Maybe Academy strategy thread? However, academy´s power doesn´t lies in its units, just in the same way that dungeon should´nt focus all too hard on blackies.
These factions are mostly about magic anyway, and academy have light as one of their magic schools so Titans can be improved, also consider miniartifacts

You're totally wrong. Titans are the most useful level 7 units in the game.. mainly because their dwelling is very cheap, and they can be artificed. Stats mean very little in this part of HoMM.. Black dragons are not very useful despite the stats, for example. You will realize those things when you get some multiplayer experience.

Subject seems narrow for a whole thread to be certain ... there are threads discussing level 7 creatures in general (like this one). But at least give topic a proper and descriptive title.

Titans are prety cool and are the only shooting tier 7 bar the cyclops which is pretty questionable if its a shooter anyway. Theyre pretty much the most amazing unit in this game with artifcer giving them luck morale and initiative, Or even just initiative. Theyre best if you can get tactics and can then block them using the gemlins. Or are lucky with obstacles

Titans are weaker than in previous HOMMs to be sure and inferior to other level 7s. They have few hit point for level 7. Shooting is not big advantage in HOMM5 because of small battlefield and huge size of Titan (hard to protect him to keep him from being blocked.) Titan may get one shot off(if he is lucky)before he is blocked then he is underpowered melee unit.
Light magic is not very good really for Academy. It is best for might faction.
Wizard is unlikely to get attack + tactics.
Wizard is hard pressed to make great miniartifacts for titan in normal length multiplayer game because of resource demands.

They are still better than spectral dragons which you probably won't even have in a "normal length multiplayer game".

Spectral Dragon have horde dwelling however and is possible to raise them with necromancy too although necromancer would be better to raise vampires/liches ordinarily. Also necromancer is guaranteed to have raise dead, whith is cheap resurrection spell for him.

Hahaha. If you are claiming you don't have enough resources for artificer I'm going to claim not enough resources for building the base dwelling the upgrade AND the horde dwelling...45 merc...it's usually better to upgrade lower level monsters.
Not to mention the game is usually beyond the break point by that time.
And spending de points for a dragon...

They maybe the strongest dmg in numbers for a ranged units,but in a comarpison there are much much better archers like arcanes for instance

Yeah titans suck, in H3 they were the strongest Lv.7 units and now they are the second weakest units.

Now titan is a very handy unit and it's nice (if u do not make armageddonist) to have it in your army you'll find it as you'll play more and more...
But, I have to agree with you that it looks as if it was a gay O_O Moreover f*cked one...
This stupid face, and simply nude, silver body has been making me vomit...

I tough we (the players) where over this already. Sure Titans seems weak compared to H3 Titans but whats the point? Academy sure can't be considered as weak fanction in the game. 1vs1 creature strength doesn't prove anything, Dragons are good example for that. Emerald Dragons have very low damage and it would be easy to judge them as "weak lv7" but that's certainly not the case in Sylvans Dragons. I was exited about Black Dragons stats before i played the game but they aren't that good in the end. It often takes too long to get them and even if you do get them they don't necessary save you. Bone Dragons? Save your money for something better 
It's true that Titans aren't one of the strongest lv7 creatures but they are still very good. Ranged attack and Call Lightning helps them to stay alive longer even if blocked  Health is actually their only weakness imo but that doesn't change the fact that all lv7 creatures are rather easy to take down in H5 (except the dino drags of course )

Oh come on how can anybody not like their looks? They´re one of the coolest tier 7 units in the game and the lightning really looks impressive on them.

yeah i agree on that,when i first saw the titans i thought they were super cool,and i still do,but the new ones (strom titans) are the ones that look gay

The Titan's biggest adventage as a shooter is the "No Melee Penalty" ability.
Blocking it's shots makes no difference, since it will do a full damage on a melee attack anyway.
The combination of 6 speed and "No Melee Penalty" ability is a very nice thing as well. Sometimes, when the enemy creatures are out of the range, the Titan can just go to them and to do full damage on a melee attack. If you add speed to the Titan with artifacts, the change for using this option will increase.
In my opinion, Storm Titan are much better than Titans. The Summon Storm ability is much more useful than the Summon Lightening ability. So if you're looking for a stronger Titan, use the Storm Titan.
