Warcraft the Movie!

Yea I know...
I don't like World of Warcraft too much, but I like the original Warcraft III storyline, so I guess that the movie will be good.
Voted "what's a movie" just for the philosophical perspective

2 things:
Real life actors? or computer animation. Real life actors = BAD! . Computer animation - Allright
why Blizzard why?! Stop milking WoW univers. :S

I hope they do more than blood and guts. It will probobally be 3D CG, as the props, makeup, and effects in real life would be impossible, esspecially in the time available. I'm gonna see it, but probobally either alone or with friends, my parents would never go.

I think it wont be very good. the fans will still watch it of course. But i still think it will fail in terms of quality.

Fan-based movies rarely have much value in the eyes of others, and WoW will be very fan-based.

I hope they will make the warcraft movie a good one, because I have bad experiences from game-based videos. For example, neither of the Final Fantasy movies were good. In fact, they were quite a dissapointments.

I believe that is one of the signs of Armeggeddon?
Anyhow, I doubt I will watch it. Right now Shattner and Mr. T are both pushing the game. Doubtful, but maybe the shine is starting to fade. Seems a little desperate to me.

Well, Blizzard already has experiences with rendered movies (every game since Starcraft has them, although WoW only has intros), so I suppose it will be pretty good. It might even be the turning point in crappy movie adaptations. The question is more how they set their preferences. SC Ghost has already become a victim of WoWs dominance, and I haven't heard anything about SC 2 in a while, either.

I must admit, not having played the games, I have seen advent children - and it did blow my mind, I didn't get the story, but who cared. the animation was so freaking beautiful. And again, that is what I think blizzard can do. Good graph. bad story .

About Blizzard are you serious? Warcraft 3 had an excellent story and lore. And Advent Children is not a movie to be understood from the first time you see it just like final fantasy 7. You can if you are watchful but you will certainly miss some things. Loved it

The warcraft lore is so vast that you could at least make 100 2:30 hour movies.
People who don't know the lore won't understand much.

Well how did they make the Lotr movies.
tolkien has an entire volume of history for middle earth.
how could anybody but someone who read the books know anything about lotr?
besides who would watch the movie?
mostly warcraft fans so of course most people will understand.
it mostly depends if it is fan oriented or audience oriented.
either way there will be somethings only fans can understand and things everybody gets.

LotR movies contain about 30% of events in the books, at max. A bunch of things were either dropped, changed or just left unexplained (like the scene when eagles engage the Nazguls in front of the Black Gate for example). A good movie nevertheless.
It will probably be similar with Warcraft.
