*** READ *** THIS *** ANNOUNCEMENT *** : Quick Reply Guide
I'm writing this because of the huge amount of unnecessary quoting in some of the threads here. My eyes ache when I see 4 consecutive posts like these :
POST
well does this mean i don't have to edit each anim?
NEXT POST
Quote:
well does this mean i don't have to edit each anim?
You mean each frame? YES. If you are making new creature you are forced to do it anyway. If it only recoloring, it's easy to change each frame as I explained.

Why are you so happy? I meant YES YOU HAVE TO EDIT EACH FRAME not YES YOU DON'T HAVE . Sorry for misunderstanding. Well EDN just asked the similar question, haven't you seen?
END OF GARBAGE POSTS
The problem is that all the quotes here are totally useless when all you want to do is quote the post above yours. This makes posts unnecessarily big and swells threads.
I'm giving one week for everyone to change his or her posting habbits and after that penalties will start coming along. I'm sorry but I really think forum cleanness is important and it doesn't take much effort to make things the right way.
EDIT:
What can you do? Read below.
1. The most important rule is that you shouldn't quote if you are replying to the last post in the thread. We are intelligent enough you understand what you are referring to. If you only want to comment on only one sentence of the previous post an dit is quite big it's ok to quote only that sentence though.
2. If you're replying to a post which isn't the last one the best thing to do is to remove all the unnecessary text and leave only the parts you think are most important. Or better yet delete all the text and put @nickname: at the beginning of your post.
3. Quoting large images is not recommended. Either completely remove it or only leave a link to it.
4. When quoting post that already has quoted text it's best to remove the inner quote block.
Thanks for your understanding. :-)

@HELL_Deamon:
This suggestion should go to the Turban Tribunal. I'm sure Val will at least consider it.
For now the solution is to manually delete parts of the quote you don't need
- or -
use the big nice in the bottom of the page in case you want to reply to the last post
- or -
type @Nickname: in front (like I did now) and save a lot of space.
Three simple ways to do it the right way. The choice is yours. ;-)

I agree with this (I didn't quote all this just to be against what you posted, yeah sure )
Well, I agree with it though

I'm just a little bit tempted to penalize you for this but I'll restrain myself this time only
Seriously though, you see what a mess can result from mindless quoting.

I know, it was just an example of how easy one single quote can ruin a whole page... sorry for that

Wog_EDN, we do not need an example in a thread which is clearly against that, which Ste was stating. We have all seen how annoying it can be in numerous other threads, and we have seen how it can easily ruin a page. We didn't really need to have this page ruined just so you could show what we already know
But I agree with you Ste, and it is nice that you are making this thread.

Wog_EDN, no offense, but that was a risky thing to do. Although, turht be told, it made me chuckle ever so slightly. That's the Lich/Undead/Dark Side Force Power side of me. Oh, wow. That was cool. I'm changing my "Adept of the Dark Side" thing.

OK, one week has passed since the announcement I made and now penalties will be applied if you don't follow the guidelines. On first violation I will send an IM and warn the person. If it happens again I'll delete the entire post. After that I'll be silencing the offender.
I really hope this won't be necessary after all
EDIT: I updated the first post with information what you should do to avoid quote clutter in topics.

I always quote only the relevant phrase, like f. ex. someone was asking about the Haven Campaign walkthrough and at the end he asked about the Seraphs, I only quoted the part where he asked about the seraphs.
Anyway I agree its a totally dumb habit, I'll try not to quote when it's unnecessary. Thx

the problem is that often posts are deleted/moved/edited so it may be very difficult to read and understand sense of the thread without quotes...i remember that Xarfax was penalized for removing all his posts from Library and it ruined Library a lot...

WoG Problems
I hope someone here can help me.
I have scripts enabled to leave troops on the ground and for the stacks to grow. I can't leave troops. I have ERA complete loaded on HoMM 3 Complete.
Also, I am playing Gelu the Necromancer and shortly after I go underground Blue hangs. I tried changing turn time to 8 minutes, but after 13 it was still hanging.
This looks like a really fun map (I love playing Gelu) so I'm hopeful that someone can give me some pointers.
I have a feeling that this will show up as a Reply instead of a new message. My apologies for that.
