Heroes 4 Music....It's Coming!

Hey Guys...Just Thought I would drop by and send a message. This is Rob King and I am the Music and Sound Supervisor for NWC. I have been writing and or producing the HOMM Scores since the first game. I Just finished the mixes up about 2 hours ago for the final Heroes of Might and Magic 4 Music. I have been reading posts and listening to all the fans about the music. All I can say is this game ROCKS! The score is amazing this time around. We used over 30 musicians in the making of the score. My good friend Paul Romero is back at the helm Composing and Conducting again. We have Opera.....Yes, It is back and better than ever my friends. Karin is back (From HOMM2) and we also used Dean from the NYC Opera. We also have a full Women's Choir and tons of string players. Justin only 17yrs old layed down an amazing flute track on The "Academy" Town. For the Adventure themes we went for a total different approach. The entire adventure score is Celtic. Using all live musicians. Bagpipes, Mandolins, Guitars, vocals and a bodhran. The new Combat themes are heavier and more aggressive. I have always been excited to work on these games especially because they are just plain good. I think you will all enjoy this soundtrack as much as I have creating it. I am pushing for a 1 or 2 cd set of "The HOMM Music Collection" to possibly be available down the road. It is always nice to read good things about the HOMM Music and I hope to keep makin' them as long as I can. This one has taken 6 months to do...And the game is in my opinion the best one EVER. Hope you all enjoy. Thanks Again,

Rob King

P.S. For all of you rock and roll lovers... Look for my new CD due out 2nd quarter 2002 on Extasy/Warner Bros. Records. The band is RED DELICIOUS....Sorry, I couldn't resist a shameless promotional plug.

This sounds to good to be true!!!!!

Oh, I just love everything you're telling me! Yess!!!!
Opera, celtic music, full orchestra, oh stop it, you're killing me here -  o.d. on joy! You just made my day, my week, my month, my year, my youth!!!!!

I'm terribly sorry if I have left you out of any due praise of HOMM music, it was not intentionally.

Feb. 2002, is it? Oh, the agony. Four months? This is torture! I'll be counting the days, the hours, the minutes, even the seconds until this game arrives at my local vendor.

Please send my regards to mr. Romero as well, what he did with HOMMII still send shivers down my spine.

Come on, people! Let me hear your praise!

The least you can do is comment on this when Rob "the" King takes out of his time to come and share this joyous tidings with us! I can assure you, Rob, I'm not the only one looking forward to this music, I know many others (in RL) who do, and I'm sure many people here do as well.

The only thing is now you've raised my expectations sky high, so if it's not good, I'll be devastatingly disappointed (I'm positive it will be, though, good, that is!)

I had a nice chat with Rob in IM. From the sounds of it, the music is going back to a more operatic feel. He's genuinely excited and proud of the work he's done, and the music should be great. Rob also mentioned that he's played the game, and likes it ...a lot. I was not rude enough to press him for details, but now more than ever, I want the darn game!!!!! ::Sighs:: Oh well, a few months isn't so long in the scheme of the universe...

Wow.

This is amazing. For many reasons.

First of all, there is an NWC worker posting on the Heroes Community!

Secondly, the music sounds great! I love bagpipes! The opera sounds like it will be really improved - sorry to say, it was a bit annoying in Heroes II - but it sounds like it'll be a great addition to Heroes IV! Is there going to be any organ music? How does the Asylum sound? Anything from the old Dungeon or Fortress towns?

Thankyouthankyouthankyouthankyouthankyou!

When I chatted with Rob via IM , he mentioned that the Asylum theme is very agressive and evil sounding. The Preserve is apparently very serene, and the Academy will use all the voices, instruments, etc. Rob noted it as his personal favorite. All told, it sounds like it's time to buy those new speakers for my machine before H4 comes out.

Thank you for informing us heroes fans, Mr. King!  We are all very greatful that you were willing to share this inform with us, and we would all be very greatful if you countinued posting on our little community(it's not so little anymore, is it ?).  A note to Lizardmaster, I wouldn't use that avatar if I was you, it's the_hydra's custom avatar, and most people really hate it when other people use there customs.  Just thought that I would let you know.

Asylum sounds great. And, Mr. King/Rob/Bob/RK/whateveryouwishtobecalledwithallduerespect would you be able to(I know this is a weird request) say hello to Jon Van Caneghem for me?

I like the idea of a Heroes Music CD. If there's a choir, does that mean that there will be actual words in the music pieces(not including opera)?

Wooooohooo! Yay! I loved the opera singers in Heroes 2 (how sad is this? I would drive around listening to the Heroes 2 "soundtrack"... that's how good it was!) and I absolutely cannot wait to hear more! The heroes series has always had the best music (it gets stuck in my head AND i sing along with it!)

Okay...

Actually, I listen to the Heroes III music on my computer when I'm typing a paper or something, and also often when I'm making a map - it's very inspirational.

Music is very important for me...

In game...

I liked both music in HoMMI and HoMM2 but HoMM3 was little bit disappointing. I only liked Necropolis music which was kinda funny violin stuff if you think Terry Pratchett and his Grim Reaper...

It's nice to see someone from NWC here of course and it's nice to see they are really putting effort to get good music into the game.

I'm now really looking forward to it.

Congratulations!!

Hey, this sounds really, really good indeed!! Thanks a lot for bringing back the opera. Do you believe I have a selection of HOMM2 & HOMM3 scores ripped with AudioCatalyst and set in an audio CD only to hear them while I drive a long journey? Incredible to hear those elfic themes when I'm running deep through a dense forest, or the necro ones when midnight it's getting closer.

Congratulations again! And here's one volunteer to buy that HOMM music CD...
