If someone has an explanation
When playing Dungeon and you enter a crypt/dwarven treasury/medusa stores/naga bank/any fight with monsters on the map or even the final battle with opponent on native ground (dirt) why is that the creatures on main don't have +1 speed like the other cases of castles on native ground? Is dirt considered native only for Necropolis and for Dungeon only neutral ground?
I really spent my time from 6 months now, starting early summer, in reading all 'Library of Enlightenment' and i am proud to say that i finished almost 90% (only 4 or 5 pages left - the newest ones).
I didn't noticed if this Q was already posted somewhere in the Library, if so, sorry for new topic!
Regards,

Dungeon's native ground is SUBTERANIAN. On randoms without underworld Dungeon starts on dirt - Necro homeland.
This is a pretty hard start - crypts can be taken sucessfully only with shakti (powerstack of troglodytes) or proper magic users - either slow or haste. Bless is also good if the number of troglodytes is not enough. Also Troglodytes should be placed on the second slot so that vampires do not reach them round one. Then you wait, vamps kill a single creature stack , so do wights. Then you kill vampires and then either slow the wights or haste your troglodytes so you can play first in the second round and kill the wights. After that you distract skelis and deads with single stacks and finish thenm off.
Also , the shak attack on dirt is not even close to the powerful start you have in the subterannian world. Speed 6 infernals can take on treasuries and small naga banks but cons are pretty tough (with no magic available). Also any speed 6 and more creature on the map is difficult to fight - meaning you will suffer constant loses of trogs ,gradually reducing your offensive power. After all dungeon is only good when you have a nice dwelling - lvl 5+ .

not very correct. Dungeon's native ground is SUBTERANIAN + ANY ground in UNDERGROUND, including LAVA,SUBTERANIAN, etc.
actually i would like to add few more interesting facts about native lands:
- when u attack any town or castle - land will be native to this town
- when u have battle inside crystal/gold/abandoned mine - land will be SUBTERANIAN
- In UNDERGROUND only Dungeon will have ground bonus, any other towns will not have it (e.g. Inferno on Lava ground in UNDERGROUND will not have bonus, but Dungeon will have )

Thanks for replying, damn those Dungeon creatures, quite hard to take crypts/dwarven/medusas/naga banks w/o +1 speed and w/o shakti. And playing Dungeon on jebus template is a pain in the ass almost all the time.Especially that i play w/o dwell/hives/cons..
Maybe i'll think again ab this matter and do my best in trying to play xl with dwell/hives/cons starting next season in wcl/lrh
Cheers to all!

Dungeon's native ground is EXACTLY subteranian.
Lava is INFERNO'S native ground.
The fact that Dungeon gets bonuses on any terrain in the underworld is irrelevant here. But it is worth knowing .......
