Quick question: would it be possible with this template editor to make the RMG create a map like this:

Each player selects his town in the starting screen, and a certain number of towns placed on the map then also switch to this town type. That is to say, if player A started on the left half of the map and next to his starting town there were two other towns on that half of the map, and player A chooses Haven, these two other towns would then also become haven.

Additionally, would it be possible to have the RMG put down a resource building that will switch to whatever resource the town in this half needs? (Mercury for undead etc)

I just got back to this game and wanted to try out creating my own template.

So my problem is that my templates don't seem to show up in the RMG. I have updated my game to 3.1 (ToTE). So is the issue that my game version is too new or maybe it doesn't work with tote at all?.

Ok, so I tried to make a simple template with 3 zones. I made 2 of them player start with town and some mines. Then I made the third area and increased the number on upgradebuilgings and stuff. I also made the third area of size 4 and starting areas of size 1. Also made areas 1 and 2 connect to area 3.

Anyways all I've done is change value of some numbers. Is there something Im missing here?

I saved the template in Heroes5\Tote\data\RMGtemp\templates  Is this one wrong? When I open the generator in game I only see a bunch of templates named like S1-345FHHGHwhatever... Is one of these my template? To me they only seem like the ones that come with the game.

One thing I also noticed is that Namefileref and Descriptionfileref are resetted evetytime I load my template in the editor.

I very well understand what you're meaning.

for my share since 1 year and half I use RTMG which randomly creates intelligent templates being able to have more of 50 zones and then it creates random maps with.

if you're insterested you can wait a month yet and I will release the version for TotE 3.1 from Modders Workshop.

Started modding Heroes 5 first time 2 days ago.

Loved the template editor. Made a template esp with no-resources start in hand (another wonderful mod I discovered here, made by someone who also improved AI)

I tried to manually edit RMGPresetTable.xdb for even better results, but it seems map generator ignores much of it whats in it (like buildings that have defenders dont get them anyway). And that was before i started editing. Gave up in the end.

But i made mod - remade all the artifacts. Really did not like artifacts like Ogre Club & Shield. I missed the more stronger variety of HOMM3, so after 12 hours of hard work i have everything that needed remaking, remade. When i test it heavily and tweak it in next few days, i can release it.

I start working with \scripts\A2_Artifact_Sets - dont know if should touch it, but i will give it a try.

Also i do not like the weakened specialities - like Vladimir got nerfed, and many other heroes. I prefer the speciality actually influence the game, depending on hero level. SO i probably go through mods already made and hopefully get more decent heroes at last.

Thank you for refreshing this mod. But does anyone know what certain options do what? There is no readme whatsover, and I have a hard time figuring out most things. Especially the parameters with 'points' and values of multiplies of ten.
