How far does it get? Probably won't even run on an Intel, don't think there's much that could be done I'm afraid, but I'm not an expert so...

Cant play on intel...DUDE! Have you checked the core temperature and the temperature on your GPU?
Thats my gamer issue right now. The way you explain it reminds me of my problem. My cabinet is so small with that big graphic card that I cant stay on main screen or creature screen regardless of H5 game or the screen will flicker with white and black squares, the sound gets choppy and then my pc restarts
I need to be fiercly quick to choose town, hero etc. It can freeze there too! So random is all what I can do if more than 4 players
But in-game msot things keep going, unless i let the game stand-by for some minutes
Damn... the day I get a laptop.... onløy then I can enhoy this game to the fullest.
Anyway go for Radars advice..or buy a new computer.

Full fledged-hard core gaming computers can be assembled for little costs of around $900 or even less. Self made computers are cheap, and with the extremely cheap Q6600 processor, the new GeForce 512MB video card on the market both for under $300, you can really make something that will meet all of your gaming needs.

well when i used to play homm v i edited the exe file with a hex editor and chaged letter from c to 5 (read it on some forum, forgot where though) and the game went great with less graphics like when i played inferno i couldnt see the flame in town view, but the game ran fine with no freezes, so i thought maybe there is somthing like that to edit with homm v toe... no ??

Can you not find the equivalent byte to change in the TotE executable? Whereabouts was the byte you had to change inside the old vanilla-HoMM file?
