It's between Sylvan and Necropolis for me.
The good things about the Sylvan realm have already been mentioned, trees, girls beautiful nature and so on...
Now Necropolis, the thought of being a deathlord is quite amusing, controlling undeads  . The smell wouldn't bother me too much, I would get used to it. Now what interests me most is their library. I've read somewhere that Heresh has the greatest amount of litterature in Ashan.
Oh yeah, this thread's real topic! In sylvan i would just live in one of those huts. If I would live in Necropolis, well one of the towers.

Necro will be nice if you live at one of the top towers away from the smelly corpses
Sylvan is one of the best places to live, but beware of the bugs dwelling in the trees
Dungeon is good if I am allowed to live in the Shadow Palace with the Matriachs 
Haven... just an ordinary Medieval town, I'll take it if I'm not a peasant
Academy will be one of the best out there, though should care for some sunscreen as excessive UV light can cause cancer
Stronghold is liveable but not a good place to live in, unless I'm a cyclop that live next to a goblin shack
Inferno too hot
Fortress is same as Inferno, unless they let me live on the surface

As a living place, Sylvan would definitely be the best (Not academy, im scared of heights ). On the other hand, you would have the longest life expectancy at necromancer´s OR at Haven (the big difference in Haven is that if you die, you will be revived as your normal self, not as something smelly . On the other hand, why would you like to be revived, if you just commited suicide to get away from being a slave... )

If you are an undead creature it meens that yuo are allredy ded and you dont smell taste or feel anything. All you feel is the hatred for the livind. This is the way undeads are.

Imagine your self live in a magnificent building hanged under the ground celling, decorated with your own mighty statue or some attractive nude statue ). Your palace is guarded with a bunch of hot chick blood furies and u are surrounded with many many pretty sexy Matriarchs .Don't forget that Dark Elves is as pretty as their relative Elves .From your bedroom's window you can not see sun light or feel the wind blowing but at least it provided a good view to those violet beams,which create nice animating symbols and light up artistic statuary
U have horde of Minotaur slaves to enrich ya,deadly assassins to secretly vanish your enemy.U ride on dinosaur-like fast lizard to the nearby trade guild to go shopping newest artifact and then visit the magic guild to learn the powerful destructive magic  .
Yay!No doubt where I want to settle my mighty and magical life

Why ? Darkshadow :|. Boil,fry,braise with meat... all is delicious . BTW u make me wonder what does the dark elves have on their plates ? Minotaur meat or something  ? I guest those minotaur is better than normal steak

I recommend you leave the undead alone . We should not interrupt the death ^^.They smelled and tastes awful. Don't forget the inferno,unless you like pretty hot well-grilled barbecue .Ah, almost forgot, ignore those elemental too, for instance, magma dragon
