great idea for 3.59
I have 2 great ideas for wog 3.59:
1.the abilities, just like heroes 5.
Ok, here is how i thouth it sould work: if you click some whatever part of heroe screen the abbilites menu opens. there you can add an abilitie every lvl (or every lvl you get an abbilitie point and add the abilities whenever you want; of course the poins once added can't be redistributed).
To pick each abbilitie you will have to forfill it's needs. (each abilitie asks for one or more secondary skills + none, or one, or more previously selected abilitie). The deeper u go in the abilitie link the stronger the abilitie gets.
I haven'g got time to think of the abilities, but beasicly there are the abbilities from heroes 5. (i did think of one: if u have all 4 magic schools u get the abbilitie to cast a powerfull spell, that does damege to all enemy units and heals ally or something..., or a deep ability that grants every unit an extra strike [linked to offence and tactics and other abilities maybe])
Also if u loose a secondary skill (by market of itme...) you loose the abilities linked to the ss.
please share your opinion with my idea.
The other idea is just a little wogily script i wanted to play with, and i was wandering if someone could rite it for me:
ok, at every lvl up, aside from the random primary skill point u get I would like to get an extra one, and place it at my choise (atack, deffence, spell power, knolege). This is to make the game a little more rpg.

Long ago, me and some from wog team tried, but we failed because of lack of new commands.
We can try again when Slava will be back.

where is Slava? and how he could put new things (like commanders, new monsters, artifacts, etc.) into the game without having the source code (at least i think he does not have it, because i remember that i read somewhere that)

I don't like this idea because than It'll be to easy.
No one could stand a chance against hero.

In fact, my own team reported me that after some time(after 7th month ..) is almost impossible without my new improved spells, artifacts....sadly, cannot be done yet in 3.58f, so most of you must wait 3.59

Is HoMM5 still within the realms of asm-moddability? Or is it too chunky and `modern`?

HOMM5 needs asm as far I know for adding new creatures(I mean new creatures) into executable, but most of it can be moddable without asm
Anyway, only in original I tried to make some changes for abilities, but for TOTE can be done just with notepad

Slava is too busy, but 3.59 isn't dead, but is too slow at this moment.

pls when u guys finish wog 3.59 make theese little changes from 3.58f:
1. the diplomacy artifacts are EXTREMLY overpowered in the enhanced artifacts script. in best case scenario all 3 of them showld make a conbination artifact that reduces monster agresion by 1. each alone should not reduce agresion at all.
2.advanced mistysism shows you the spells from the future mage guilds.
at least ask for expert mistysism if not for some resources to do that.
3.this is more of an idea for the commander's bow of seekeng.
insted of needeng: 5 wins - can shoot, 25 wins - no obstacle penalty, 25 wins - no range penalty;
try this: 5 wins - can shoot, 20 wins - no obstacle penalty, 20 wins - no range penalty, 20 wins - able to cast death stare while shooting.

Well, I'm using my own scripts everytime like Neutral Stack Growth and Neutral Units Bonuses and for me Diplomacy isn't overpowered at all because Diplomacy works just for wandering monsters and also reduce the costs for creatures.
So, therefore never tried to ask or make my self new changes

i don't think you understood what i ment. i am talking about the 3 artefacts that normally would reduce the cost of surreendering by 10%.
Whith the enhanced artefacts script theese artefacts each reduce monster agresion by 1. all 3 of them make a combined artefact that reduces monsters agresion by 4.
this means that if a monster is set on savage (never join hero) with the combination artifact it will become compliand (always join hero) witch means that every monster will join you.
this seems way to overpowerd to me.
