Four lands - OCC
I love to write in RP’s, but have never made one … so here we go with the first thing that fell into my mind:
In the time of faerie, mankind and many other creatures lived in balance. Good forces sought to heal and help the land, evil forces sought to kill and destroy. All of them controlled powerful magic, and they were constantly at war with each other. None of them seemed to gain advantage. The good ones joined their powers and made the ultimate sacrifice; sacrifice of a human life. A woman accepted, and she were killed on the Altar of Life. The evil ones were banned from this world, because they the good ones didn't even want to kill something as evil as the evil ones. As time passed the magic disappeared, the need for it no longer there. Most of the magical creatures passed away, not able to breed or not able to fit into the land as it changed. Humans managed to fit into the world, and lived everywhere they could build their home. Then after time they started fighting against each others, the magic again needed, but it was gone. Humans started learning about technology then, which turned out to be their end.
World war 3; humanity almost killed itself. A few survived, not because of their wisdom, but because of the huge numbers of humans. They started making their livings in different places; some in the forests, some in the mountains, some under ground and some by the water. All of them changed to fit into the landscapes they lived in.
A council were opened, the Chosen Ones, they called themselves. They managed to recover some of the lost magic, and recruited everyone they saw had 'The Aura', which was the power magic was controlled of. They grew fast, but the ones controlling magic outside the council were also less. They prevented people from developing too much within the part of technology, because they wished to prevent what had happened from happening again. The council consisted of only men and elves.
Some of those in the forest learned to blend in among the trees and make themselves almost invisible when traveling through the forests. These were called elves. They are among the most civilized within the new races and live in large cities. (Some of them controls magic, otherwise they use weapons such as bow, longbow, short swords, spears and katana’s)
Others in the forest are gnomes; four feet tall, green-skinned and barely human-like beings. They are very aggressive, primitive and live in tribes. They worship anyone who controls magic and constantly fights against the dwarves to rule the forests in the east. (None of them controls magic; they use weapons such as knives, short swords and bows)
Humans lived in valleys and in open areas, so they didn’t change at all. They were aggressive until they were defeated by an alliance of elves and dwarves, and after that they pulled back into their own areas and developed quickly there, away from the other races. (Just a few of them controls magic, the most of them use weapons such as bows, long swords, short swords, spears and catapults.
The dwarves lived underground, and became only four feet tall with broad shoulders and powerful body. When they moved up from the deep again their eyesight were bad, but after time they got used to the light. Because of the time they lived beneath earth they have claustrophobia and don’t like small rooms or corridors. (Just a few dwarves through time managed to use magic; most of them prefer maces, axes, bows or swords.)
Trolls were men and women that lived in places where no human should be able to live, and their body changed after time to fit more into the environment. They became huge, 9-12 feet tall, with barklike skin. They are being trained in fighting and the art of war since birth and are the best warriors in the world. (No trolls control magic; they use axes, clubs, maces, giant swords or long spears.)
Here's how the lands look after the disastrous war
Trolls live in the north, dwarves and gnomes live in the east, elves live in the west and humans in the south.
Let’s see if something happens out of this I’ve got an idea of things I will let happen if this gets stuck, but until then we’ll have to find some main story .
I hope this sounds okey, and that some people will give it a try

You sure you haven't mixed them up with goblins?
And the story itself is kind of weak. We destroyed the planet so now suddenly magic has appeared and everyone mutated into fantasy creatures? You can do better than that...
