dimension door?
fred79 said: i have a question, and i think it belongs here. playing era 1.8 + wog, and upon testing/playing one of my maps today, i had green(an opponent) appear from above-ground side, to subterranean, without the use of a portal, whirlpool, or subterranean gate. it just popped up out of nowhere(if i remember correctly, it came from either a cyclops stockpile or a dwarven treasury, but it might have just come out of thin air).
i didn't script anything yet, so it's not on my end. and i certainly didn't change some random object to a portal/gate/whirlpool. so, what gives? anyone else ever see this issue?

Inferno special building can move you to different level as well, though I doubt it is the case :/

Not sure if this is a WoG behaviour, but from what I can tell AI heroes (that are not allied with a player) in a free-for-all game never attack each other in the open.
This leads to weak/scouting heroes grabbing my mines and resources that spawn every week. Also I can't have scouts of my own because they just attack with anything, cast a damage spell and flee.. and on impossible, I can't really afford losing resources and troops this way.

I believe there are few instances where the AI is cheating. One particular example is that the AI seems to prioritize your heroes than other enemy heroes when choosing the target to attack. And sometimes the AI ignores other opponent AI players by choosing not to attack them in sight

LichKing said: The first is morale. I've had times when my hero with +3 or better morale has tried to take a mine and the guardians get morale bonuses almost every attack. Conversely, I hardly ever get a morale bonus in the same battle.
I'm still convinced AI cheats on this one, have seen it one too many times even when I'm just watching someone else playing (so possibly a little less of a biased observation then if it was just when it happens to me).
What I think it happens is that AI has built in exceptions that will give a moral bonus every three or four turns, if it haven't had one before.

AI definetly cheats, but rather it simply knows when it will get morale, and it can use this knowledge as an advantage.
So rather than attacking the most closest player creature, the AI can decide to move instead, get closer to a better target, as it knows it's able to attack it's target in the same turn by receiving a morale.

Is it somehow possible to fix this morale "cheat" and does it also cheat with luck?
AI casting Town Portal on cursed ground should also be fixed.

Good questions, and I don't know the answers. It's quite rare to witness AI cheating with morale to begin with, and I don't really even know how one could even test the AI's ability to "sense" luck.

As far as I know, it does not know its morale, this is an illusion and confirmation bias. Its moves are defined by dangers and reachability
