How has HC influenced your thoughts or opinions about Heroes?
How has HC influenced your thoughts or opinions about Heroes? There are many posters who like to post threads that are like ‘spoilers,’ meaning that it gives away info on the new heroes game. For instance, a good example would be ThE HyDrA’s new thread, Heroes 4: Filling in the gaps. A fantastic and very, very long thread that gives just about all the facts about HOMM4. From that thread I have found good points to the game that makes me want t play it now and bad points that tend to put me off a little (not that there is any bad points!). I have chosen a town that I like, which is Asylum, but I didn’t always like Asylum, the first town that I decided to use regularly was Stronghold. That was ages ago, not all the town info had come out and I thought Stronghold was a clear winner over the rest. Then after visiting and posting my opinions and learning others, I realised that Asylum was the way to go. I liked their creatures, I liked their snapshots and I liked their magic, and Stronghold turned out to be less powerful then it first seemed.
As for HOMM3, it was nearly the same. I started out playing Tower. They were strong, but they cost a lot. Then I decided to make the journey over to the Dungeon castle who was a little stronger than the average town. I could win easily against the computer but it was very time consuming being Dungeon. I would be spending ages gathering resources to produce even a small group of powerful units capable of taking out other Heroes, but if I decide to try and take over a medium-armed castle with a hero guarding it, I would be up until midnight just gathering resources. I had the patience for that. Why? Because I knew that HOMM3 was a fairly lengthy game like most strategies are, but I tried playing a modem game and it took me weeks to finish. I didn’t have the patience for this. I decided to consult my little HOMM3 handbook and see what town appealed to me. It was between returning to Tower or making the move over to either Fortress or Rampart. Now this is where HC came in to play. I read a thread that had something to do with your favourite town. That was quite useful because people gave their fav town and the reasons. I narrowed it down to either Rampart or Fortress. I couldn’t pick between the two so I instant messaged ThE HyDrA and asked for his opinion since him and me both agree on a lot of the same things. He gave me a lot of good facts about both towns but didn’t tell me one to be surprisingly since the Hydra is part of the Fortress units. I pondered over which one to be then I came up with a good idea. Why not just have a match with each of them and time it? The creatures were fairly the same and I was after a fast working group and that is how I became one of the…
FORTRESS FANATICS!
As you can see HC has helped me a lot. It has mainly helped me to pick a town but that is not all. It has given interesting facts in the TOH and the Alter boards and hilarious threads in the Tavern, while it has had a lot of inspirational posters (like myself… just joking!), and a lot of inspirational threads that have been wiped of the site or are still around.

HC and Heroes
Originally, i started playing heroes long before i joined HC, maybe 3 or 4 years before, actually. Yes, it is true, i have IMed DarkTitan a few times, but we really don't know much about eahc other. Just an average, curious person.
Anyway, i was looking at HC for a while maybe about a month before I became a member, and started to realise that if you take other peoples opinions, you can help resolve almost anything about Heroes. That is why Heroes Community is so beneficial towards how you play.
I have found the most valuable information in the Library of Enlightment, where strategies of castles are talked about a lot. I am a typical Fortress fan, and liked to experiment with other towns and see how they fared against my own, and really got town strategies that way. But there is really more to it than that. Not only do you need to experiment with the towns features, you must also test out its streagths, its unique abilities, if you like. Dungeon's 'Portal of Summoning' is extremely important for its survival, since you can use creatures from other towns to fill the void in the place that you most need it. Haven focused on powerful creatures, as i found out in Oldtimer's 'What level... creature is the best' threads. They helped me in the way that there are different ways of looking at which ones best, it also needs to have the right background aspects like the effects that they induce. (Behemoth 80% defence lowering)
HC has changed my view on aspects of the Heroes of Might and Magic series. I will be surprised if joining Heroes Community hasn't made even a slight difference to your gameplaying of Heroes.

HC opened my eyes to what happens to people that really get into this game........they turn into GEEKS.
I came here a few weeks back to try to learn some new stuff about the game, but then caught myself reading lots of threads about other stuff.
Now I realize that I need to spend more time in my life doing real life events, like flyfishing, racquetball, mountain biking, bullet-biking, skiing, etc. so that I don't end up spending time posting internet threads about my computer gaming experience.
Such a viscious circle inside the PC realm.
