Making maps from the SKETCH
I have tried making a map from the scratch but i hadn`t any inspiration.
So i tried to create a random map and modify it fully to make a good map, but then overheard that the maps that you created yourself are always better than the random maps. And you always can recognize both.
So...i have been thinking making something like "Defend your Castle" from a sketch(map Battle For Power from TE) but...this is illegal, you know! But what if i modify it and place in the credits?

I suggest you try to make own map once more but if you want to edit original map just do it. Copying some map maker's map is out of the question if you haven't asked the permission but from 'existing' maps it does not sound so bad.
Making a map for H5 is a bit harder what it used to be but it follows the same pattern: town surrounded whit wood/ore mines, puzzle alike routes whit trees and mountains, tresures here and there and some shrines, windmills, quests and creatures. Then you do that in mirrored version equal how many players there are and you have a map. It's not hard but darn time comsuming work!
Good luck whit your map making what ever you deside to do

i had this same problem some time ago. (i now have a problem with my laggy editor)
one of the solutions i found was to take a piece of paper. draw shapes on it (not too much) and then recreate a map with terrain based upon that paper. then you just wing it. make walls to contain areas and make little areas where you can find extraordinary treasure small winding passes or connections between areas.
just my ideas man
