Man, this Mirai Nikki series really has me split. It's about a schoolboy named Yukiteru Amano who is picked by the god of space and time to battle with 11 other competitors for becoming the next god of spacetime. To mix things up, the competitors' diaries are given entries FROM THE FUTURE, allowing them to predict what will happen. It's sorta pretty awesome, but at the same time it's also kind of a load of trite and the narration scampers forward in a drunken stumble reminiscent of a rush to figure out what to write for the next week's chapter when the deadline begins to rear its ugly head. It's kind of like Deathnote in a way, really.
The main protagonist is passive and whiny and doesn't seem to be making much of a contribution. The human drama is kind of stock and the entertainment value of the series depends more on the viewer's ability to "leave their brain at the locker" in order to enjoy the battles of prognosticion and the shock value of the love-interest character's rampant insanity. A rampant insanity which is used to tease the viewer with the possibility of it leading up to hot feacal-matter-on-fan action, but thus far it hasn't beared fruit.
Also, there are too many characters, too much pointless frolicking about and too much rape.
But still, I keep watching...

The composers for both did a fine-arse job. Thing is they focused on diametrically opposed (Diametrically opposed. Sounds classy as ****, I should use it more often) style and atmosphere. The first one's all about Al's cynical dashing smexy side while the other tends to the fact that he's a bloodthirsty vampire from the middle ages. Of course you prefer the latter, as part of the ruthless fur-clad Swedish demographic.

Where does Highschool of the Dead take place? Skanksylvania? I think that's the same setting as History's Strongest Disciple as well.
EDIT: Sad news. For those of you who frequent Mangastream, all Viz Media series have been dropped to threat of suit. That includes Naruto, Bleach, One Piece, Hunter x Hunter, Katekyo Hitman Reborn (never read that one), Claymore (never read that one either), and D.Gray-man.

Also about Mirai Nikki: something is seriously wrong with the police in that series. There are these guys blowing stuff up and killing dudes left and right, but the police don't seem to give a damn. Heck, the main characters are guilty of aggravated assault on police officers and there were police witnesses, but no man it's cool.

Watched some of the DBZ movies.
I'm about 10 years late watching these. I get the feeling that I would've found this insanely awesome when I was 10.
Kinda pleasant in a nostalgicy kinda way though. Pew pew pow pow.
