GATE season 2 has started and it is fun as usual. A pity they did not keep the original intro

Tsar! You double-crossing basterd, how could you do this to me? How could you not tell me, your brother in anime, about this absolutely snowing brilliant title that is Shimoneta-to-Iu-Gainen-ga-Sonzai-Shinai-Taikutsu-na-Sekai? Why have you kept me in the dark about it all this time? Yurusanai! Thank your clumsiness on the Random thread that you already made up for it, but let it not happen again. If you're hiding any other treasure like this you better spill it now.
As to all the rest, I'll tell you what Tsar failed to: that this Shimoneta anime is a freaking masterpiece that no one shouldn't miss out on. Give the uncensored version a try and thank me later.

Quote:I missed out a couple, it was dumb of me not to reflect on each anime as I finished them, hadn't realized I left it this long. (last one I commented on was Black Lagoon? Lol that was soooo long ago).
Ye it's pretty much this, watched so many great short animes that give me a brief burst of high and then I forget them or spam my buddies with short clips like the one in the Random thoughts(mainly cause I'm anxious for the next season). Such a shame as well, cause they're amazing. Still waiting on S2 ...

Yep, was also sweet to get a look into Itami's troubled past, mental illness in the family is pretty ****ed up thing to cope with, you literally feel like there's nothing you can do. Also I can't wait for the real teasing to begin (yknow about the whole 'daddy' thing).

I'm at season 3 of Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Fairly good cartoons that added to my knowledge of the universe. Found some explanations for the various plotholes in the movies.
Oh, and this Shimoneta, of course. So much fun! The damn tease man, I'm simply loving it! Almost made me bite a chuck off my desk.
One Punch man concluded and some specials are airing. Top notch anime, reading the manga too.
Reading Bleach as usual, SnK, Dice, watching Naruto which became deplorable real fast with these fillers, and anxiously waiting for season 2 of SnK and Stein's Gate scheduled for this year. Gonna be amazing.
Lol karate is killing me. I love the Kaburagi founder ^^

MMA manga, mostly realistic, a lot of fun if a little short.

Just read chapter one out of curiosity. First impression? That manga reflects the kind of impulsive, adrenaline-filled state of mind that borders anger management issues and thrives off ego contests. The setting is not even that great, but realistic enough. Interestingly, I could see this appealing to you and Joonas, but this is the kind of mentality I've been exposed to part of my life and grew adverted to. Paradoxically, I can actually enjoy it to a certain extent just like you'd enjoy a street fighter, but the momentary thrills would leave nothing of substance behind after they've passed, no ideal or feeling of accomplishment. I doubt I might be reading it further, but who knows.

This currently airing 12 episodes anime, Boku dake ga Inai Machi, is quality mystery psychological supernatural seinen material. It already tops many anime lists for a reason. I haven't seen anything quite as powerful recently, surely worth a watch.
Lucky Star is a different breed though. Slice of life moe action to the max, definitely enjoyable. Tons of references and fun moments, not your everyday comedy show. I haven't enjoyed light stuff before but this just puts you in a good mood.

Apparently, I'm all that's left standing in this dark, desolate place *manly tears*. But no matter! I will continue to post my latest anime escapades until the bitter end.
This time is Prison School, a 12 episodes ecchi comedy seinen that recently got an uncensored version. The anime is the kind that you'll either take or leave, love or hate. There's no middle ground. There could be many off putting elements, ranging from bdsm / femdom to urophilia or even worse, but there are also a ton of things and moments to which you'd say "LOL, WTF!!" from the bottom of your lungs - which, er, would probably coincide with the ones just mentioned earlier xD. Personally, I enjoyed it to a surprising extent. The techniques really show it is a 2015 anime and the hilarity is abundant. I couldn't recommend it more
Not really much to update, past few weeks I've been watching nothing but Gintama, (90 episodes in so far) so far I found it amazing, some profoundly deep episodes and countless hilarious ones too, so far my only beef is that it does have a few filler eps, but that just completes it tbh.

EDIT:
Just finished Overlord. Not a bad anime by any means, but it fails to deliver to its full potential. I have heard it is similar to SaO but since I haven't watched that yet (intentionally), I can't draw a comparison. Overlord does make some interesting points about the virtual reality of an MMO game, but sometimes I just wished the action was more meaningful and complex. Would give it a 7/10.
EDIT:
Finished Ore no Imouto ga Konnani Kawaii Wake ga Nai. Mostly disappointing, but probably because I had a lot more hopes from a "seinen", which actually isn't at it's core but only with regards to some elements like eroge and doujinshi which the anime is chock full of. Plot is nothing to write home about, and the highs barely surface above average. I don't feel it's been a complete loss watching it, but I'm definitely not gonna pursue the second season for at least a good while.
EDIT:
Watched Yosuga no Sora. Honestly, I expected a lot more from an eroge turned anime promising good harem and incest, so it was kind of a letdown. I have no idea what the target audience was for it because the various elements are pulling in every direction. The plot and atmosphere are shoujo, maybe shonen material, and the nudity is R-17 level so more on the seinen side. It felt like an odd anime more than anything, rather gloomy too. Can't say I enjoyed it much.
EDIT:
Well, just finished Elfen Lied. The amount of anime logic take the apparently very ingenious and interesting idea of a "diclonius" living in an unimaginably cruel world and makes it look a lot more childish. It's a real shame that the plot was so badly enacted. A lot of unimpressive and gratuitous gore. A lot of emotion surrounding it so I'll give it that. Not a bad anime but it could've been so much better. Maybe my judgement is too anchored in today's standards.
EDIT: Psycho-Pass has been one of those animes that throws you into a world of an apparent and strident cacophony of a reality only to realize that it's a pronounced exacerbation of the human struggle throughout its existence. There are fairly modest but interesting ideological tenets upon which a system is built by man, for man, where man slowly drifts towards dehumanization, becoming a number in a cognition process, an automaton preordained for a future of artificial happiness, an entity unconscious to the nature of evil and its consequences. There would be much to say, but at the end of the day the most important thing to note is that the anime is great at making you question. A very good watch that I'd recommend.
EDIT:
Finished Psycho-Pass Extended and also Psycho-Pass Second Season. The former is basically a rewatch with some extra scenes while the later is a sequel and a good one at that. Will take the time to watch Psycho-Pass The Movie too after which I'll take a break from the genre or anime altogether.

pfft, still has one of my fac characters in all anime. Bando is me if I was raised in just a slightly different environment, can't help but feel slightly whimsical with a touch of shame.
Dub is pretty bad for all but Bando too <3.

Well, I couldn't see it that way no matter how hard I tried. To me Bando was a failure as a military but also as a human being. The only time he got someone bleeding was when he smacked that female in the scene you linked. After that he was a train wreck of a character. Easily on of the worst characters for me, not like I believe there are too many good ones.
Anyway, just finished Genocyber, a recommendation from you-know-who which I managed to entertain until the very end. But man, did I have to pull through it... This is probably the very definition of an old-school anime aging VERY poorly, but one that left a sufficient impression on the young minds at the time who still remember it kindly up to this day. I've never seen such a veritable cluster**** before, and not in the good sense. Wouldn't recommend it.
Btw, for those of you interested in the staff and cast of the new Berserk animation, check this out - Link.
EDIT: Boku dake ga Inai Machi, the number 1 entry for 2016 winter anime just concluded. Fantastic. I can't describe how such a simple idea can be so powerful. Plot, action, mystery, all are very down to earth and believable as if this were a slice of life. There's no abundant reliance on surprise factor or moments of major suspense, it's all fluid and anticipated, which is something I've rarely felt succeeding but in this instance it's just perfect. I wish more animes found this type of elementary quality, 4.5 / 5, recommended.
EDIT:
Just finished Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo and I have to say I enjoyed it a lot. One of the best slice of life I've ever seen, with good elements of comedy, drama and romance in a school setting. Not quite on par with Toradora but close enough to get you on that roller coaster of emotions. Life moves forward regardless of our successes and failures, long lasting friends are hard to come by and harder to let go of.
EDIT:
Well, Shinmai Maou no Testament was not a bad anime by any means, but not a good one either. It's not to say that it didn't impress me at all, it's the standard fan service material (especially with the uncensored version) propelled by a non-compelling fantasy story of demons and heroes with magic and superpowers. Some good ecchi here and there with moments of enjoyable tease and roleplay, but that's kinda it.
