Of course, it's a matter of taste, but for factions that rely on Light Magic like Sylvana and Haven, it's deffinitely a worthy alternative to Implosion (as these factions are likely to have an at best mediocre spell power) without being allmighty.
OK, Alc, but what's with others?
What's with Fortress for example which has quite decent chance to get Sp pow...
Then it becomes not alternation for Implosion but an overpowered uberimplosion...

In my games, if I'm in mood I can try many different things. I don't know about u, but for me to play a faction in only one way becomes super boring for me. Before TotE there was a "barrier" for some factions using some skills, magic schools and gameplay styles. TotE gives the player more freedom to expand, to use things never used in the past. Example(and back on the topic):I was liked using destructive with sylvan in my first days in H5. Imbue arrow and stuff were my favorites then, but I also had fun playing with might sylvan or to play Dirael which was a very special case, and required some unique build. As I said TotE brings us many options, so now I'm trying how will sylvan do with in faster game, using Vinrael and destructive. Levels go up at fairly good rate. Sylvan isn't the best early game factions, although it's never late to try something new, like dungeon with light(looking around for samiekl). I'm not saying my sylvan is good, just that there are many ways to play a faction. Sometimes magic factions can make use of might and might factions can make good use of magic(try here http://heroescommunity.com/viewthread.php3?TID=25355). Sylvan can be effective with both might and magic. For me it was so before TotE, although might was better for sylvan anyway, but I didn't mind to have some fun using magic. People now say that sylvan is broken. May it is, may it isn't but it's definitely imbalanced. If u're not a very good player even a noob can beat u with sylvan(btw I've seen even good players falling to noobs ). As for me(u may say I'm crazy) but most of the times I don't like to use arcane archers. They seem overpowered to me, which is killing all the fun for me sometimes(it's not fun for when it isn't a bit hard ).
Ok, that's the end of my nonsense . As alcibiades said it's just a matter of taste.
EDIT: Wonder why this post have taken a "sylvan" twist ?

This thread inspired me, so I decided to add some new things in one of my threads about magic schools. I'll add them tonight or maybe tomorrow
