Super Mario World: Lunar Magic
I have liked the programm Lunar Magic; it allows you to edit the levels of super mario world rom. Then you can play them.
Has anyone else made levels with the programm? I have, but my levels are either too easy or impossible.

Yes that and other rom hacking programs are legal, if not commercially distributed and in the case of emulation if you own the original game.
I have seen lunar magic, but haven't bothered messing around with it, as the original game was good enough for me.

mamgaeater, you need to download an emulator for super nintendo to play your ROM.
EDIT: If you want to hack the original game, you need to download a versiuon 1.0 rom for it.

Emulator is a programm that allows you to play console games on computer. Rom is the game file, that the emulator uses. So you need Super Nintendo (SNES) emulator and Super Mario world rom version 1.0, american or japanese version, english doesn't work.

It depends on the console. Some older nintendo console's and handheld console's roms are downloadable, because they use cartridges and you can't link them to computer. If you play some games that are on CD/DVD, I think you can play them with emulator by just placing the game disc to your CD/DVD driver and launching the emulator.

Open the rom with Lunar Magic programm. That's what it's made for!
There you can add enemies and backgrounds etc. to create your own levels.
