A question to the community
Hi to all!
I would like to play with Agbeth and Ranleth, however in order to do so I would need their picture with the black background as a tga-file.
So if someone has these pictures I would be glad if you could post them.
If you have also Kunyak and Orlando (the Knight) I would be more then happy.
Thank you in advance.

All hero pictures are right here at Age of Heroes.

Right and I also tried to use them but the problem is: I'm completely unskilled in graphical matters. I converted the pictures to tga-format but they have the white background and it looks horrible in the game. After hours and hours trying to get the picture right I gave up.
Therefore I thought someone here might have already converted them for ingame use and is willing to share them with me.

Here you are. Sorry it took a while, I wasn't sure so I had to test them in-game. They work fine, download them here:

Ranleth I couldn't get, since her portrait isn't in the game's data files - get back to me on that. Tell me if there's any problems.

Great! Great! Great! Perfect!
Cool, thank you very much for your help. Regarding the time: it took you around half an hour to do all three pictures, I spent my free afternoon yesterday and all I got was an oversized white box as a hero picture.
About Ranleth: it's ok, perhaps you find a way to get her picture but I'm happy with the three pictures you did.
On another note:
I had a look at your site and you've a cool timeline of the world of "HoMM IV" there. Looking forward to more.
I'm wondering if there is a timeline for "HoMM V" as well, as this is such a great game with many cool characters, I'm heavily interested in the background information.
I read the storyline at Wiki and the information provided by you guys in the "spoiler" thread. But I'm looking for more details.
Yes, I could play the campaigns myself but I'm more the Multiplayer type. It's more fun to play against friends than hours and hours against the computer.
Perhaps you can help me out a little bit.

No problem. I'm working like a dog on the storyline wiki but there will be no info on Heroes V there, as that game has nothing to do with the Might and Magic storyline whatsoever. There is a timeline of Heroes V's background events right here.

Well, for one Ranleth's not in the data.pak, and the campaign hero unlockers affect the existing heroes whereas .tga files allow you to convert one hero's portrait into anothers without screwing up that hero on all other maps.

Markuskg is just saying he wants play with them so what's wrong with a campaign hero unlocker in that situation? He didn't mention creating a singleplayer map or converting existing heroes.

I'm pretty sure he wouldn't have asked for .tga files if he didn't have a specific reason... unless he doesn't know anything about data.pak

Yes, Cepheus is right, I had a good reason to ask for .tga files, well actually two reasons:
First of all the two programs you linked to are great, no doubt about that, you and sfidanza did a great job and believe me, I downloaded both and tried to use them, but they can't help me and here is why:
Sorry for not being clear in my opening post. Your mod changes the existing heroes whereas (Cepheus correctly detected my intentions) I would like to convert heroes with specific specialities into Agbeth, Kunyak and Orlando (I have other specialities in mind than the one given to them). With the tga files I can do this whereas they remain unchanged for all the other maps.
Furthermore I want to work with them on a map I created. I would like to place them on a specific location with a larger starting army and this I can't do with the mod as I can't use the heroes in the editor.
Hope I clarified now why I needed the files.
On another note:
What do you mean by q&a topic? Is this not the right thread for questions about modding?

Allright that's clear,
The sticky FAQ thread is meant for small questions, that's why the moderator mostly closes off this kind of threads.
