Poll Question: Underwater HOMM4!!!
Hey all I just got an awesome idea!
They should make underwater and above air play in HOMM4!
Think of how much longer you could play!
Think of the new units, the new towns, the absolutely-new worlds!
So, what do you guys think? Vote on these interesting ideas and lets see the results!
Maybe even parallel worlds?
Cmon lets see a good long topic here. Lets see some opinions and wild ideas! Use ur imagination!
Question: Waht kind of world(s) do you want to be added to HOMM4?

Okay...
That's not the most awesome idea I ever saw...
What new units? Herring and Trout?
Longer gameplay? The heroes would drown! Or do you want to give them subs? This would definitely break with the game theme!
And lastly, your poll makes no sense... whatsoever... What do you mean by the alternatives... under sea... under sea what?!?!?! I vote for under water...
No pun intended, but make your poll intelligible if you want any votes. Keep posting, though!

I think not
They've already announced that there will only be the same two levels as in H3. Personally, I'm glad - with the Fog of War, it will take quite a while to chase down the last renegade heroes as it is, much less having to chase them through 17 different levels.

No way!!!
Come on !!
That idea will hopefully never come in any Homm version ever. Have you ever thought about it; Heroes is supposed to be old, just might and magic!! I don't even like the beholders, the look kinda "spacy..."
Well....thinking about it, some teleports could have lead to some small areas, but not under water or in the sky, alternatvie dimensions like you said, but only very small places, like when they are going to meet a azura dragon to get a very special artifact which makes you the winner of the game, but not, and I repet not more levels. Personally I don't like the underworld level at all...
conlusion:
There are already to many levels(2), I really really hope that there will never be any more levels, that would ruin the homm I know. I always want homm to have something from the old Homm I. To never leave the old homm we all love so much !

I thought of this idea too.. I kinda like it, but it would be too complicated with more than two layers, and games would take forever to finish, especially with fog of war.
But it would maybe work if you keep it at two layers, the normal overworld and some other layer which you can select in the map editor. Then you gotta work it out how to explain "flying" and underwater breathing for all your units.. and what gold mines are doing up in the clouds..

OK, flying I could see, one would just need to ride a dragon or something of that sort to reach their castle. Makes sense...but underwater? They didn't have submarines or anything of the sort to reach the bottom of the ocean, just ships.
Plus, two levels is quite enough. You wouldn't want a castle near gates to three different levels, now would you? It's bad enough having just a subterranean gate. Granted it would make for a more difficult game, but it is just too complicated. I'm not saying it's a bad idea, it is simply too far-fetched for a game like Heroes 4.

This idea's already been picked about endlessly - water would be good; air, no way.

And what about the non flying units being produced from out of that castle in the sky?

the non-flying units, after being produces, would scream "Geronimo" and start falling to the ground. 5 seconds later there would be a "SPLAT" and a piddle of blood. hehe

No time for that... Maybe expansion... But that`s with all ideas... Ofcource we have discussed it b4. Under water - very good, why not, but it would be a bit hard to do it. How would it look like? Will there be a special terrain for it only in the sub(underworld) map?
Well, sky world... Maybe just many other dimensions - just other worlds, like the underground except they have completely different stuff there and there will be more of them than just one. Well, maybe it sounds great, butr admit it - too complicated. ...and too high request for hardware too, probably - 7 worlds displayed in one map!We have to be happy with the increased map size. (and I am! )

More levels!
I like the idea about different worlds!
Underground world, underwater world, normal ground world and above ground (air) world.
Underwater world - creatures would have better abilities when fighting underwater and some bad abilities when fighting on the ground level. These kind of bonuses and minuses could all castles and creatures, heroes have. And if it would be like this it would be more appropriate to have the elemental magic back. I don't know which magic is better the new one or the old one.

Hrm... Have you ever played Civilization II: The Test of Time? Or... whatever its name is.
They have a 'fantasy' version in the game, where there are the Elves, the Merfolk, and the Buteos, and I think some demons or something. The Merfolk lived underwater (obviously) and the Buteos were winged people that lived in the sky, and the demons lived in another dimension. It was very interesting, but didn't work out. Anyone who didn't live in the normal world had their own place that no one else could visit and their home was virtually unassailable, since the normal land-dwellers had almost no units that could go underwater or fly, and portals to the underworld or whatever were rare. Besides that, if you wanted to win by obliterating your enemy, it was ridiculously tedious to have to look everywhere for them.
I don't think it would work out any better for HOMM.

this idea has posibility for heroes V, there could be things like the angel wing artifacts in heroes III, and perhaps they could have enchanted clouds and such, remember, there was a cloud terrain in Heroes III, and it had a sweet battle feild. obstacles in the clouds could include things like holes, where it is just a long drop, thunderclouds, and mountain tops. this is a good thought, just misundrstood.

oh, gods.
No.
No underwater-fantasy-marine-worldy-things!
No darkworld!
No going to hell/heaven!
No passage between planes of existance!
Not again! Gods, I will not buy H5 if it incorperates multi-playing fields, not again! It ruined gameplay and gave the computers a distinct advantage, them an the hero hordes. Nobody who's ever play H1-H4 can say that the computer does not create as many bloody heroes as possible, that was annoying, and with 2 playing fields they would have thousands of weak and annoying heroes swarming like flies all over the map.
NOT AGAIN!
NO UNDERGROUND/UNDERWATER/OTHER DIMENSION COMPLEXES!
