H3 windowed 32bit
Are there any mods to run this game emulated in 16bit color.. so I can still run my desktop at 32bit color? but have H3 running in a window?
and other question as I'm new to H3 .. any fansite with addons/mods/maps etc?

thanks.. I had come across that vcmi mod earlier..
gave it a try anyway after downloading and installing wog 3.58f( wasn't so sure about that mod..whats the big deal about it?) I am new player to this game so I'm still starting with the main game.
anyway that vcmi mod was nice in that it does allow you to run in a windowed at 32bit color.. but you didn't say that most the stuff doesn't work
oh and the animated trees/treasure on the normal maps, dunno about that, think for the graphics/quality those are better left still and not animated(is that vcmi or the wog mod thats doing that?).. anyway hopefully they carryon there work with it..
H3 is a nice game could do with more development.. I see not many people like IV and V heroes games as much as III and II.. can't the original developers help out these mod guys out

So right now, the answer is no? I don't have WOG, but would like to be able to play windowed at any bit depth I'm on.

seems to be pretty much not possible.. and its not just WOG that you need.. its also vcmi , but thats not anywhere near complete or fully functional, but hopefully someday it may be finished and then running H3 windowed might be possible..
oh and earlier when i commented about the animated gfx like the trees/treasure that is part of WOG, but I was testing it through vcmi so thats why my perception of it wasn't so great, vcmi was making the frame scrolling jerky.. but having now tried WOG on its own those animated gfx aren't bad. could do with more frames inserted into each animation so they aren't looping and repeating so quickly though.. but whatever
might have found some other games to play by the time vcmi is fully functional and playing H3 windowed with 32bit desktop resolution which is shame really
